It would be glorious and they'd argue for the whole dinner. Bonus points if I could add Weber

I like how your complaint is as vague as it could possibly be. I haven't even watched the damn film, but I never really understood what made hipster-hunts so compelling for /lit/

Metropolis is good as well, but I'll admit it's probably less engaging for a modern audience. Soundtrack is rather distracting, I wound up substituting http://www.archive.org/details/TheCityBeneath in place of the actual orchestra

Yeah, I came in with the piece being really hyped and came out disappointed.

The whole sequence of The old man killing Gatsby because his wife gets run over by a car struck me as outragous and a ridiculously crude and melodramatic way to have Gatsby die and be forgotten without having to convict any of the centeral characters of murder. I mean, at the very least there could have been development of a stronger relationship with this sideshow character if the author was serious about pulling that bullshit.

Additionally, I got irritated by the staple romance-and-potatoes plot, the economic decadence and disillusionment the author wanted to portray as a central theme felt pretty weak in my eyes compared to what could have been. But that's a personal preference really

Cool story, mogwai. Actually, he just logged off at that moment because he didn't like the negative attention being directed by anon.

This is most likely an attempt to recoup support base from anon so he can resurge

Best guess is it's trying to consolidate his credibility right now as a non-troll so it can flame /lit/ for another ten-thousand years as per usual. Or it's already gone into the senile and passive stage trying desprately to enshrine things nobody really cares about
