>i was thinking he get's it from someone who knows that the outcome will be how it is because it always does that.

I see the problems raised there, but currently, yes. We'll probably change it at some point.

Good comeback. Would you like to help us out now, since you've got a better idea?

Right. Do you have anything of worth to contribute, or will you go back to enjoying that bowl of dicks?

Sorry for the trips, it's required to keep from hijacking.
The problem, as described in the first idea, could be this: One writer has a series of terrible tragedies befall him. He writes something to befall the other writer, who has, by comparison, a much better life. This better-off writer then seeks revenge, through a series of torturous events, each worse than the last.

Hard SF? The Revelation Space trilogy is great. It's pretty slow, however. I eventually stopped 3/4 way through the 2nd book and picked up The Dark Tower.

If you're looking for non-fiction, I have nothing. in the way of fiction, however, Alastair Reynolds describes a lot of the technology in his universe. There's a lot of astrophysics and shit like that.

It didn't all go downhill. He was just a less badass gunslinger.

I'm 127 pages into IV, and I'm having a little more trouble getting into it that with the first 3. Maybe it's all the flashback shit. I'm guessing it goes downhill with V, VI, and VII?

Rewrite that shit. It has great potential.
