Liberal American college students think any society that isn't a bloated multicultural welfare state in trillions of dollars of unpayable debt is oppressive in an unacceptable way that they can't quite elaborate on because it might be offensive to the people in that oppressive society.

They also don't understand the importance of maintaining a functioning state or trying to better yourself and become a Confucian gentleman. It's a very unfortunate sign of our times.

I slept with a girl a couple times over the summer. It made me feel good about myself, and I was suddenly more productive than I can remember being in a long time.
Before that, I'd spent about nine months trying to get over (or inside, depending entirely on her will) this girl with whom I, for some reason, was infatuated. We kissed a few times, and she always ended up telling me she wanted to be friends and nothing more immediately afterward. It was awful for my self-esteem, and I basically spent the whole winter moping.
Now, I'm starting to feel particularly lonely and empty again. I got a qt's number at a party on Sunday and I'm considering texting her. We took a class together last semester and we've talked a few times, she seems smart and she's bretty cute. I don't know, though.

I present to you my 29-page philosophical treatise, written in response to others that have been written by our collective. This is the first philosophical work I've written, and I wanted to share it with you, the people who inspired it.

The things that give rise to qualia can probably be explained by science, and presuming otherwise is contrary to the pursuit of knowledge, which is the only reason to talk about this kind of thing anyway.
Descartes was a faggot, but people are still wrong. Science can explain why phenomena are what they are, but if you want to understand the experience of those phenomena, metaphysics has some things to offer.

All things that can be said to exist in a substantial manner-that is, all things that affect human perception of the world within which they exist-can be determined to fall into one of three categories: Words, Things, and Ideas. At the apex of Word, Thing, and Idea is the Subject, the entity around which this ontological analytic is constructed. Anything which can understand Words, have Ideas, and be influenced causally by Things is a Subject. A Subject is barred from its external world and the things in it (which are not the Subject being barred) by transcendental space. Transcendental space is the only area where misperception of reality may occur, since all things inside the Subject are understood to be in accordance with its unified equilibrium, and all things outside it are understood to be causally united and (through this causal unity) in a state of systemic equilibrium. The purpose of my transcendental analytic is to provide people with a new way to sweep transcendental space (which is, according to my analytic, the place where ideology and religion come into being and have their mediating effect) and determine what they really should care about, what really exists, and what they really mean when they say something.
I have particular definitions by which I understand Words, Things, and Ideas. I've filled up a couple notebooks with notes.
I don't plan to break new ground, I just want the system I produce to give people a new way of understanding the things they already know and give them a sense of purpose beyond vulgar materialism.
