what can i say, I don't like the plot but you never know until you write the whole story.
you know what, i was wrong in my first comment.
just write, if it sucks, let its suck. it's the only way to get better at writing.

the plot is kind of... well, how to put it out nicely, not as interesting as it could be.
and why would he like to cut his arm of?
I mean, you write from the lunatics point of view,
whats the lunatics excuse for wanting to cut his own arm of?
I know insanity sound like a "sexy" topic to write about,
hell, iv'e written like 5 short stories about insanity,
but you should really keep yourself from writing about stuff you don't know shit about.
it's like a 12 year old that writes about love.

:) all good, how are you?
yes, wwb is a great movie, try Ajami - it's an Arab-Israeli crime film, and a good one!

I have 2 friends with ADHD, the first just take ritalin before reading.
the second sticks to short stories, yet hes still the best writer i know personally.
tl;dr
Ritalin.

iv'e read a collection of fiction and some articles, the articles were a great read but i did enjoyed the fiction more.
iv'e heard about Cortazar from my mother (who also told me to check out Borges) so i will definitely give him a try.

every good book I read change my life momentary, a well written depressive book can depress the living shit out of me.
for a day.
but a book that really changed my point of view on life? it's just as stupid as "finding Jesus" after reading the bible.

i did found some similarities between Borges and Kafka, and Kafka is one of my favorite writers so i guess its a good thing.
thanks allot for all of the recommendations, i think i'll try Umberto Eco first. any particular books i should try?

>> No.1178404 [View]

by the way, stay away from the movie, i gave it a try after hearing some good things about it (and after reading the book, so i was a bit curious), but it really is a horrible movie.

i would suggest you start with easy and modern day texts, and after getting them start experimenting with some older and harder texts. though i still find writers like James Joyce unreadable

God Bless You Mr. Rosewater is my personal favorite, but Sirens of Titan is a very close second.

don't listen to all of the e/lit/ists around here.
it's a well written book and you should definitely give it a try.

I read it a while ago so i don't remember all the small details, but from what I can remember it was a nice and easy read, didn't had any trouble figuring it all out.
I remember Vonnegut got a bit crazy at the end and put himself as a character in the book, and i kinda liked it. did you?
