While browsing the many vaulted aisles of you library, you feel a tap upon your shoulder. When you look up, you see a face that takes you a second to recognize, despite it's familiarity. You see your father, who has many years on you (in age as well as taste), and in his hand is a book. As you open your mouth to comment, He puts the book in your hands and simply says, "I think you'll like this." He then turns without another word and heads down the aisle, opposite the way he came, and leaves. As you gaze upon the book you see, in impressed silver letters, "Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000".

What do you do?

Ok, guys. I understand how reading a book that you find to be bad can't be enjoyable. So, why does it seem that if another person expresses enjoyment on reading said book, you then look down on the person or otherwise express disdain? Why not, instead, express dislike for said book and then suggest a book that you dean better. I've posted >>1493669 & >>1493716. The first received apparent disbelief. I enjoyed >>1493669 Immensely.

Now, as a child, I didn't learn to read until I was 5. My school didn't teach us (despite the fact that I had asked if we were going to learn how to read, to which they answered yes), eventually (at repeated request to my parents from me) my parents taught me. It took me 3 weeks to learn, with my first 200+ page 'novel' being read in 8 hours('novel' is debatable since the book in question was 1 Illustrated Classics: The Time Machine). I then over the next year read the entirety of the Illustrated Classics library. Need less to say I do love reading.

This has rambled on quite too much and I do apologize. Consequently, here is a summary; Why the apparent disdain?

This is not a troll and I do desire discussion and/or conversation.
