It was okay. I didn't care for the ending or how openly physically molesting Taverner was throughout the book. I've read better Dick stories.

I've read Ubiq, VALIS, and DADoES, watched A Scanner Darkly. I'm actually reading The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch right now and have four other PKD books in my backlog for afterward. I am excited for my wild ride of my boy PKD and his psychedelic adventures.
This post doesn't answer your theoretical question but this is now my blog and you'll have to DEAL WITH IT mister!!!

DRAGONLANCE edition
>talk about Dragonlance
>discuss how the continuity is surprisingly solid for a YA sword-n-sorcery
>laugh at the people being wrong who think everything after Twins trilogy is shit
>discuss Sanderson being a chode-choking dickgoblin and writing random YA nobody asked for

Some of these charts need updated and fixed but I'm too lazy to go through them at the moment.

>I mean, he can't use the Aether, right? He can't use the Aether, he doesn't have an Aether. But the sand, the sand does stuff. So a handful of sand is a really useful amount of sand to have if you're not a sandmaster. Because sand reacts to investiture. So if you let it fade and you take it somewhere, as soon as investiture goes kinetic, it'll turn white again. So you'll be able to use it to tell who's using inve..it works just like a Seeker, like bronze pulses.
>So having white sand, having sand around is really good. If you can keep the little beasties that are growing on the sand around, they will react to basically the investiture equivalent of radiation. So that's handy.
neat

Hey that story about the girl climbing the wall to find the whatever on the other side... what was the resolution of that story? I think it was in Oathbringer but I could be terribly wrong.

So I started reading The Library at Mount Char and I'm only two chapters in but boy oh boy I hope David dies a horrible death.

Can we discuss sci-fi that involves manipulation/violation of mathematics? I know this occurs in the Xeelee Sequence by Baxter, and Reynolds has used it before in Revelation Space (cryo-arithmetic engines violating 2nd law of thermodynamics). I'd love to read more hard sci-fi that incorporates this kind of shit if anyone can provide me with further reading material. I have nothing important planned after my current book.

I finished Echopraxia last night and man, it had decent bits but it wasn't as good as Blindsight by any means. Like you asked, there were a lot of unanswered questions and it felt like whenever questions were about to be answered or there were interesting interactions (Bruks and Valerie talking by the campfire, Bruks talking to his wife in Heaven, etc.), it was disrupted for PLOT reasons.
Not a big fan.
