It's a long series that feels longer the further into it you get. New concepts become scarcer further on so it gets stale. And if you like to binge videos on other series like ASoIaF and LotR or even fucking Branderson, there's a drought of quality content on it (there's some out there, but not nearly as much and nothing done as well bc it doesn't get the views).

I could stomach an unlikable female character. but what the fuck is going on with his writing? it seems like she has repeated the same character arc three times now. and dont even get me started about that thing in the rain in the crevise. unironically one of the most beautiful things branderson has written and its never brought up again.

but these English covers are crap, I wonder what intern at the publishing house came up with that one. two nameless and irrelevant lindworms that appear in the story of the siege, one nameless and irrelevant wolperting (unless i misremember) and of all the copper killer from illustrations they use the one that looks like a fuckin chicken. it's downright impressive. also, review/quote in the front of the book, especially one of the "X meets Y and Z" kind. not very appealing, nor is the strange monochrome teal. and yet this whole messup took more effort than just copying the original cover.
the english bluebear cover has a similar issue with an odd choice of yellow for the background and a choice of illustration that (together with the name) suggests a focus on nautical hijinks more strongly than the story warrants. but at least the main character is front and center surrounded by others that play a role at least for a little (heh) while.
and the cover for city of dreaming books (before they realized their error and started going with the original german covers) looks almost like someone's geocities webpage.

Naw, Brandy Sandy is holding all the power in this confrontation and he knows it. At the end of the day, he's still a self made multi millionaire from doing what he likes to do. He won the lottery of life. Why should he get agitated over some random journo being a dick? Consequently Branderson just shrugs it off and works in a subtle belittling jab at the end for good measure.

Is that really true though? I haven’t read Branderson Sandwichson but I’m told his books are basically just marvel movies. I think the primary “problem” with contemporary sff lit is that publishers want to appeal to women.
