Hoping to be in talks with publishers by December, but we'll see. As of right now the majority is pretty atrocious in my eyes, so I'll be stuck in the editing process for most likely a little longer than I'd like. Thanks for the positive reinforcement though.

As for books I'd suggest(I loved 1984 and BNW myself), I'd recommend things like A Scanner Darkly and Infinite Jest once you start having to interest to watch the ideas presented by Bradbury and 1984 develop into something more contemporary.

I'm writing something like that. But it gives a much more sympathetic outlook on the "corrupt" organization and ends with the theme that all organizations end up suffering from corruption when charged with the task of propelling the human race into righteous paths of development. Also has some influence taken from both Joseph Campbell and Lewis Mumford.
Nearly done, first draft should be completed by September at the latest.

Touches on that too. Our culture is beginning to shift towards one where you don't truly own of your actual belongings.

The primary difference here is that while stones to scrolls to books were new ways to convey text and stories to readers, they had one thing in common: Their single mode of existence was displaying text.
Printing became more efficient and miniaturized, sure, but the content contained remained relatively the same.

With digital tablets, a developing child has an entire world at his fingertips. Music, videos, pictures, stories, games, etc are all accessible to him in one singular device. There's no focus required in using a tablet, as soon as one thing about the tablet bores you, you convert it's utility into something more interesting and instantly gratifying.

We're moving towards and information and entertainment barraging culture guys. One that disallows us to focus on one task long enough to complete it to the best of our capability. Did none of you read Infinite Jest?

Seriously. I always get a constant flow of chills running up and down my spine and across my shoulders all throughout the poem's second half. Never read the text without his voice accompanying his words. Just doesn't feel right.

No, because meter is music theory. Why would /lit/ be heavily familiarized with it?

I always felt greatness entails working towards so worthy endpoint.
If you ask me, there was more to admire in Hitler's delusional notions of a 'perfect' race of humans than a belief system that attempts to rip you of your individuality.
Then again, I'm a pretty uneducated fuck.

Also, I'm not a fan of the Judeo-Christian belief system as they demonize the roles of females and affirmation of bliss, so even if you were accurate, I'd disagree.

Do we know if that was that Christ himself, or a set group of people who just created this character?

It's hard to label historic figures as great when the records surrounding them are unreliable.
