For the record: I'm not a hipster (at least I don't think so)
Either way, I don't label myself as a hipster :o
But I guess that means I'm now labeling myself as a non-hipster.

Sometimes a label has to be used, as I explained in one of my previous posts. What bothers me is people who subscribe themselves to a certain label and lump themselves into a category. Even worse, people who expect you to do the same.

And btw I am indeed the specialist most original snowflake in this mother fucker so suck my dick bitches.

Listen fucker, the quote makes sense.
He obviously is using the word path in a different context than you are trying to use it.

Basically he is saying there is no guidebook on finding the "truth".

>> No.3830963 [View]

>>3830930
A path is a set way to get from point a to point b. Paths do not change. Truth changes, therefore there is no path that can lead you to truth.

GAWD!

Have you considered that she is a dude doing exactly the same thing you are doing?

Sorry bro, but you're gay.

And unless she is pretty stupid (and actually a girl) she should be able to tell you are actually a guy.

>You and everyone else bud.
Well, maybe not EVERYONE else, but yes, I'm aware there are other thinkers in the world besides myself. Thanks for pointing that out.

No it doesn't. I actually do believe in a higher power, and therefore I'm not an atheist. Yet I haven't found a religion that matches my beliefs, so therefore I have no religion.

Furthermore my beliefs are constantly evolving, I'm not set on one way of thinking. To label myself would mean that I have given up and settled on a predetermined set of rules that explain what I believe for me.

Yeah, if the shoe fits wear it. For some things the shoe really shouldn't fit so easily though.
Things like bisexual, white, young, and male, arnt really what I'm talking about. I mean, if your a white male your a white male, there's really no way to dig any deeper into that topic.

Something like religion though, that's more along the lines of what I'm talking about. It's not a black and white topic so you shouldn't lump yourself into a category so easily. I'm sure you're specific thoughts and beliefs are in reality vastly different from everyone else who are in that same category with you, but no one would ever know, you're just an agnostic atheist and that's that.

Oh, and your an optimist? You mean, like, all the time? Radical.

lol is that a real chapter? I didn't get to that part yet.

>> No.3829853 [View]

>>3829839
yeah... no, what I'm talking about and what you are talking about are completely different.

>>3829821
Doesn't that accomplish just the opposite though? If you say for example "I'm a nihilist" You get lumped into the nihilism category and all the rules of what it means to be a nihilist get attached along with you. How is that being unique?

His style lacks elegance, and there are many passages that make for easy targets, but the work as a whole is quiet impressive and deserves the credit that it gets. Pretty much, he is great building worlds, building suspense, developing characters, and brings many different plot lines together. So what if his prose is a bit trashy, by my count he still hit four out of five.

Why are people obsessed with labeling themselves? Whether its religion, sexual orientation, political parties, music, philosophical beliefs, fucking anything.
"Oh, I'm an atheist." "I'm a nihilist." "I'm a right wing conservative." "I'm a punk rocker"
It just annoys the ever loving shit out of me. As a human being you should be more complex then to be able to explain yourself with one word.

One time someone asked me what my religion was and I told him I don't have a religion. He was literally baffled by the concept. "So you're an atheist?"... It's like he didn't get it.

I just don't get why people have to lump themselves into categories like like. It wouldn't bother me so much if it didn't seem like everyone does it. If it was just a lot of people who did that shit I wouldn't care, but it seems like EVERYONE does it.

I saw the argument made that the average IQ of men is higher than that of women. This is true but again, that's a result of the roles society imposes on us. On average, women get more shit for free then men do therefore they don't have to work as hard (usually). This doesn't mean the gender is inherently inferior. If that was the case then there would be NO smart women in the world.

I'm pretty sure there are at least a few women who are NASA scientists. That fact alone should end this notion that women are not capable of being as intelligent as men.

I'll go on to make the point that if you take a guy in a similar situation where he doesn't have to work hard to survive then he usually isn't going to be too intelligent either.

>> No.3818350 [View]

Other than that whole period thing that happens, woman are more or less the same as men. What makes us different is our roles in society. Woman are supposedly more emotional than men are, but that's only because men try to hide their emotions, not doing so would be unmanly.

Woman flocking to fifty shades of gray is the same as dudes flocking to football or whatever.
Woman don't look deeper into art and poetry? You're saying the same cant be said of 90% of the guys you know?

Whatever inferiority your seeing in woman is really just the inferiority of the general population of the world. You're just focusing on the woman's inferiority because you like, hate woman or something.

I've known smart guys and smart girls, added together and its still a fraction of the unintelligent people I know. Regardless of gender.

Yeah being 21 will do that to you. It gets better though man, but you have to be the one that makes it better, its not just going to happen on its own.

You got a long time to live and you want to know the awesome thing? You're life is just starting. Like seriously, you're age is the beginning. I'm only a year older then you but I started getting my shit together a bit younger than most people do so I can tell you I've been through some shit.

Uh, pretty much look at it like this. You can learn anything, go anywhere, pretty much do whatever the hell you want as long as you're smart about it and are in touch with reality and what needs to be done.

Now get the hell out there and be somebody.
