You tested to see if he was there, rather than knowing that he was there. Do not test thy lord.

>Then Jesus told him, "You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe without seeing me." (John 20:29)

Blessed are they who believe without seeing.

Walk into a man's yard with measuring tape, magnifying glass, and a scale in your arms and tell this man "Come out and prove to me you exist" he will probably not waste his time to visit you. Who would measure a friend?

The men watch the puppet at the puppet show. They look at the puppet. They observe it with all five senses. They conclude that the puppet is all there is. "This is it. There is only the puppet. Nothing else exists. We understand this puppet and where it came from completely."

After the puppet show, everyone leaves. But I meet the puppeteer himself and go dancing, twirling around with him.

"The self must be grounded and rest transparently in the power that established it--God."

>I am not sitting on a cloud while leaping.

Of course. Kierkegaard always maintained that a state of being grounded was equally important to resting transparently in the power that has established you.

I am glad that you were able to at least get that much out of Kierkegaard when the rest of his work is too difficult for you. God bless.

Johannes de Silentio was a man who could not make the leap. Kierkegaard could.

Yes, we cannot "live in god". But we can rest transparently in God.

You will only understand that K. is a knight of faith if you yourself are a knight of faith. Read the paragraph where he describes how a knight of faith spots another knight of faith.

Not everything Kierkegaard does is as it seems. Just give the book a try with the lens I have given you, and the light of a certain paragraph will shine right through the pages and into your life.

For those who are planning to read or reread Fear and Trembling any time soon, realize this: though Kierkegaard claims to not be able to make the leap of faith, he is just lying to you. Keep that in mind as you read and one specific paragraph will have a very, very new meaning.

The only one you need to read is Prometheus Rising. And maybe Kierkegaard's The Sickness Unto Death.

You are right. Strait is the way and narrow is the gate. Still, the Muslim people are faithful believers in God. I would not be surprised if God made it possible for both paths to be simultaneously correct. But the specifics of the Muslim faith are not something I am familiar with and are not something I required to reach God.

Nothing that you write is your own idea either. Human beings are a giant frame of stained glass; every shard is willingly picked up and placed into this window of stained glass, and yet the man will say "I am original!" simply because he must feel that his stained glass window is more important than others to give himself confidence. The most you can do is carefully place these shards of glass in a way that will make your overall window look unique. But you can never be unique. You are only a human.

Christians are people who worship Christ, who never asked to be worshiped. I still call myself a Christian because Christ was the Son of God, and he helped lead me to God.

Jesus speaks clearly and to the point when he is not speaking in parables. Your reading is inconsistent.

The point of lowering yourself is altruism. If you meet another person who humbles themselves as you do, for example, you give them a present, this will follow:

>Oh no! I cannot accept this present
>But you must
>But I just cannot

And so on and so forth. Then to the arrogant, selfish man, you give a present and he hastily snatches it. You make both people happy. The humble are glad to see that another great humble person exists, and the selfish/obsessed with material possessions are glad to receive a present.
