No. Oversocialized leftists created the modern day left. They didn't have to create idols out of the values of Christianity, which paradoxically is itself sinful.

Isn't this just sophisticated perennialism?

Only if you're bad at it IMO. Aristotle is quite clear in what he does.

So he's a monist, the monad is the ideal, and the ideal exclusively exists as something material, which is interwoven by a dialectic that gives expression to this ideal, the outcome of which makes it absolute

Yes, Christianity created the modern day left, faggotry and all.

I always wondered why atheists still believed that things like murder are wrong even though there's no reason to believe that to be the case from a materialist point of view, though I think I finally figured it out.

There's this idea that Ted Kaczynski came up with called "oversocialization". Basically, he believed that radical leftists weren't anti-establishment, but rather supported the establishment so much that they would accuse it of failing its own moral standards. An example would be the BLM rioters that aren't fighting for any anti-establishment cause, but are committing violence just to parrot the anti-racist BS they learned in school.

My theory is that atheists that have moral standards, and especially projects like The Satanic Temple, don't actually want to reject Christian values. What they want is to have Christian values but without Christ to be loyal to. They have so much support for Christianity's values of compassion and loving your neighbor, that they accuse Christianity of not providing those values well enough. Atheists and atheistic Satanists are the BLM rioter that despite hating the establishment, can't help but parrot its talking points and support its values.

Thoughts?

Well, nowadays it’s relatively easy to become fat and isn’t even necessarily the result of gluttony but in a pre-modern society it could only be the result of gluttony.

In Ancient China, at times where it was more like today, to be somewhat chubby was a hallmark of the upper class. Chinese men still proudly show off their bellies to signal that they’re upper class.

My Dad resents me, but idk what I did to make him dislike me. Everytime I've spoken on the phone recently he has a tone of frustration.
He also takes pot shots at my masculinity, and other weird passive aggressive remarks.
I was talking about buying a car for example and he goes "too bad they don't have it in hot pink color"
I'm convinced he's insecure about his own masculinity. He's a really strange guy, and often talking to him I feel like I'm talking to a hysteric woman.
He also seems annoyed by my independence. Like he wants me to be dependent on him. Or rather he has no trust or faith in me that I can handle my own shit.
For instance on vacation there was a problem with my car requiring me to take it in. When we went into the mechanic and talked, I was about to give the mechanic my phone number but then my Dad interrupted and gave his own number.
It feels like I'm competing with my own father and like he wants to undermine me for some reason. I just don't get if

Jean Chardin's Travels in Persia.
He actually provides an honest balanced assessment, praising what he sees as the good aspects of the Safavids (e.g., hospitality, value of poetry, impressive architecture, etc.) while constructively criticizing the negative elements (e.g., poor agricultural practices).

2, but it was 1700 pages in total so I think they count for more. Dostoyevsky is a master, but jesus christ I just finished Idiot and im broken. That ending was horrible, his other books also end pretty good so I wasnt prepared for it.
