Ok, well first his writing style is very boring and lazy, never trying to grab the reader's attention at all, basically saying "yeah im writing a book, meh"
Second, his books are very pretentious, always having to appeal to the hipsters and wankers, who can barely read let alone find him a great author.
In comparison to Bret Easton Ellis and Chuck Palahniuk, Tao Lin just does not deliver on many levels...

Ive read both "Shoplifting from American Apparel" and "Richard Yates" and they were both the biggest pieces of post-modernist turds I have ever read. Seriously I think my fucking dog could write a better novel than this douche of a chink could.

And the fact that he keeps trolling /lit/ trying to peddle his books on us is just sad and pathetic

book was a piece of shit, when your main themes are Individualism and Architecture and THATS ALL then you know youve written a shitty book

IMO Rand was a troll in the lit world, trying to see how bad she could make her books and the countless hordes of "intellectuals" who would eat it up.

it is an adult man's and little girl's arm locked in an embrace, showing their dramatic differences and how they can overcome them in the name of love (hence the reason why one is so hairy and the other is hairless)

though it is pretty disturbing nonetheless...

ive read worse, I found American Psycho to be a quite accurate depiction of someone slowly going insane, just set in a posh setting with the man being a serial killer...

OK /lit/! I have to write a Post Grad Research Paper analyzing the literary elements of John Steinbeck's work's, focusing mainly on The Pearl. I hate Steinbeck and find his books pedantic and boring, so I was wondering if any Steinbeck fans on /lit/ would mind helping me find and analyze the literary elements in this book. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

so, basically your saying that i support him because im a tripfag and so is he?

No, I support him because he seems like a cool guy, i dont know why OP is making troll threads whining about individual members of this board, if you dont like the person, just dont bother with them, no need to start a whole thread wasting everyone's time with your whining
