Cope, Branderson is a Trad Mormon, his books is based on Mormonism and is filled to the brim with Mormonism.

Branderson is mormon in name only, his true religion is intersectional feminism aka wokeism, like most of his middle/upper middle class peers. Incidentally that's his connection to Harriet McDougal, their shared feminist creed.

I don't understand how niggas can complain about Gibson's prose being bad or getting them lost. I find it smooth as fuck, I think they'd just rather be watching anime, having Branderson spelling everything out for them.

If you want a good performance, would recommend any of the Frank Herbert Dune books or GERM ASOIAF books or Branderson Cosmere books

Do it.
Screenshots/blockquotes are objectively a strong tool for /sffg/ to determine if an author sucks or is worth reading. Case in point: Sando Branderson.

Gemmell was a chad writer. He literally managed to write dozens of fantasy novels from the 80s to the 2000s while completely ignoring Tolkien. Something virgins like Jordon, Branderson and GRRM can’t do. Gemmell didn’t write LOTR fanfic, he didn’t write anti-LOTR sUbVeRsIoN. He wrote as if Tolkien never existed. Based.

You have to understand, Branderson was a WoT fanboy and Jordan was too dead to veto anything. It's like being handed the keys to the chocalate factory to do whatever you please with no repercussions.

>all his adult books read at a YA level, and the level of his YA books is insulting to the supposed literacy of young adults
I don't think this problem is specific to Sandon Branderson in the current year.

It won't just be a trend. It won't just be people riding the coattails of other successful stories. It will be authors having a deep love for anime and it showing through subconscious quirks in their work. Nearly every author in 25 years time will have grown up with anime as their primary influence, similar to how authors like Branderson and Cline grew up with video games.

I would have said the same but I can't really say Cradle is badly written. Characterization may be basic and play off cliches, but it's strong and consistent, every single character is almost instantly memorable. The plot may be generic, but it's relatively well paced (the second book lags a bit, but I can give that a pass), tightly focused, and has a clear goal and motivation for every character. The world building is brief enough that it doesn't bog the series down but still lets you form a clear picture of the political and geographic layout of things. Yeah, the prose is basic, but the series is meant to be light reading, so opaque prose would be meaningless.
In comparison, if Cradle were written by Branderson, each book would begin and end at the same point, but be 600 pages longer, have twice as many characters, and Yerin would be another Shallan. THAT would be badly written.

Cradle is unashamedly low brow but it plays to its strengths and doesn't let itself get bogged down in minutiae, which are objectively the most important aspects of making a series enjoyable. It reminds me of Codex Alera in that aspect. It's objectively silly (Codex Alera was literally written on a bet for a round of drinks), but it makes it work.

You said it yourself, not me.

Really? Because the biggest consensus around Branderson is being overly long and repetitive and needing a new editor. Good to know it's not actually a legitimate complaint :^)

Why do bakkercels run crying to the tranny janny if you insult their favorite author? I've insulted Branderson plenty of times and never had this happen.

Just wanted you all to know that I'm absolutely never going to read a Branderson book, aside from the WoT ones I got tricked into.

Why is /litrpg/ and /gamelit/ suddenly so popular? Some of these have more positive reviews than something like Branderson who already has a ton.
