Is he a fictional forerunner to the likes of Tom Green, Sam Hyde and, to a lesser extent, Eric Andre, Nathan Fielder, Die Antwoord, e.t.c.

What the fuck is this. Does /lit/ just pretend it's amazing because Sam Hyde said he liked it?
>so many layers, so much hidden meaning!
It's a fantasy novel for young adults. I've just finished Claw and although the setup of the first novel was decent, 80-90% of what I've read so far is complete trash of little substance. Wolfe is unjustified in the gravity with which he writes and comes off as pretentious. I can see a teen falling for the false profundity but for me it became obvious and uncomfortably cringey.

Anyone else? Is it better to stick to a certain mindset (or ideology) or be tossed around until you stick to one? Tips?

Fuck this board. 2 years ago it was exclusively Catholics, Marxists and 2-3 alcoholics who would occasionally show up for actual discourse on literature and philosophy. The board is literally a reddit, r9k, pol shitposting ground now. And when I said it was coming, all the responses were "le reddit boogeyman XD" The front page right now: 2 Sam Hyde posts about his new book (basically House of Leaves for Men's Rights Activists), um "Orson Scott Card is literary and /lit/ is pretentious", and a frogposter threatening to kill himself with no mention of a book.
The Golden Age is done.

It's settled. /lit/'s resident philosopher Nick Land has conclusively endorsed the comic genius of filmmaker, writer, bibliophile and Carnegie Mellon alumnus Sam Hyde

Sam Hyde is now officially and undeniably /lit/.

Hello /lit/,

Can anyone help me out here? I've read a handful of articles and of course the Wikipedia page on post-irony and I still haven't really found a firm definition on post-irony. Does anyone know of some good arguments for post-irony? Against?

Thank you,

Anon

P.s. This stems from watching Sam Hyde's stand up routines and being curious as to what exactly the hell he is up to. If anyone could clarify that would be helpful also. Please feel free to share any and all takes/opinions on either of these subjects.
