Alright, well, I guess I'll dick around with that stuff for a while and see how it goes. Thanks for the advice.

I've heard that that Live Mocha site is pretty good, too.
I've always wondered about the Rosetta Stones, Living Language, things like that. Are they any good? Are they $150 good?

I've got nothing better to do and no other means to learn it, so I'm just giving it a shot. I don't expect any incredible results or anything, just thought it'd be neat to try.

I just so happen to be doing that.
I have the set up in the attached picture, and am listening to the audio book for pronunciation.
I chose this book because it's short and doesn't use flowery prose and large words, and is one of my favorites.

Except, now, ironically, I can't find an audio book of the English version of Myth of Sisyphus.

Well, I found what I needed finally on Demonoid, so thanks to >>2540775.
Also, thanks to you, because once it loads I'm sure this site will be helpful in the future.
And, finally, thanks to >>2540779.
For always believing in me, and providing me with the inspiration needed to succeed.

It just keeps loading. I assume that's a problem on my end, though.

The cool thing about it is, I have found them, but all the links I've found are to downloading sites that have been taken down (Filesonic, Hotfile).

Thanks. I found an audio book for l'etranger on there, but not an ebook for it.

Hey, /lit/, I'm having some trouble here. I usually don't ask for this sort of stuff, and I can usually find it on my own, but not this time.
I can't find an eBook for L'Etranger - Camus anywhere for download.
I found one for Le Mythe de Sisyphe, but now I can't find an audio book for it.
If anybody could help, that would me immensely appreciated.

tl;dr I need an ebook and audio book of l'etranger, or an audio book for mythe de sisyphe

Here's a picture of young Nietzsche.

Not with that attitude. Maybe you should read more about spaceships and dragons and shit.

Just kidding. Though some fantasy books do have good character qualities and stuff like that that can help improve a person. Very rarely. I don't read any science fiction, so I can't speak on that topic.

>house and a partner
I'd be cool with just the house. That's the only reason I have a job, now.
So the first one. As long as I can read and see movies and have a stable shelter, I'm good to go.

That's good to hear, maybe I'll check them out. I see them on the shelves all the time but am reluctant because of the covers.

Also, how's Tad Williams' Shadowmarch series?

Maybe it was Heidegger I was thinking of, then.
I get them all mixed up.

I read while I browse /lit/. But only when I'm reading little fun fantasy books, like now. When I'm reading my srs /lit/, I don't allow any distractions.

That one German man with the H name. Not Heidegger.
God damn it I'm bad with names.
Hegel? Something like that?

Where do you live?
If American, then Spanish would be more practical. If anywhere else, then either of the other two are fine.
Personally, I'd choose French. Actually, I already did, in high school. Good thing I don't remember much.

In the B&N that I work at, our "Fiction & Literature" section is mostly fiction, and all that's in the literature section are essays, poems, and related things.

By creating books that appeal to the less intelligent, we're pandering to their "needs" and creating a cycle of unintelligence.
There should be only books for moderate and above levels of intelligence, thus forcing the unintelligent to strain themselves and rise above their level.
If they can't do it, then they can't read, and that's no big loss. They gain nothing from reading such mindless dribble anyways.

Wait, is this a serious discussion?
