His work is based on Hegel, who is himself a kabbalist/gnostic. It's the idea that History is the manifestation of God, the "Geist", the "Spirit" or "Mind". And so Marx saw the coming "revolution of the proleteriat" as the next step in the evolution of the Geist. Marx was a false prophet. He repackaged Jewish kabbalah. His entire philosophy is based on "the inevitable revolution" which is based on the Jewish idea of the inevitable messiah.
