>Comics thread.
>Turns into sci-fi nerds arguing over their shitty "literature."

This is why I hate science fiction and the people who read science fiction.

Really, you're only going get this handled by talking to her. You aren't going to read your teacher's mind. I'm also pretty sure that teachers appreciate students who put in the time and effort to get shit done. I can't think of a teacher that ever liked the uncaring/silent kid who sat in the back of the class.

It's needlessly verbose and rather clunky.

Of course, I'm just guessing there. Your AP teach might not appreciate the line for other reasons.

It would probably be best to ask him.

I'd say Tropic of Cancer was the most vulgar book I've ever read.

Also saging this thread because Naked Lunch is a pile of shit.

I don't know why I always forget the fact that he's pushing up daisies.

Seconding these.

I'd suggest checking out Winesburg, Ohio. Books a bit old school, but it's a very nice read.

I'll admit that I haven't studied her with any particular depth. I only read a collection of short stories called 'Lizard.' I'm kind of a short story nerd and I can usually knock out a book of short stories fairly quickly, but I really had to muscle my way through her stories. The stories just felt very weak and unfocused, and I honestly can't remember a single one, which is a bad sign really. The diction was pretty drab and uninteresting as well (needlessly so), though maybe this could be blamed on the translator.

I'm not too familiar with Japanese literature, but I'd recommend that people steer clear of Banana Yoshimoto, because she is truly terrible.

Not sure if you've heard of this, OP, but the black-girl name is evolving.

>Incoming cool story.

My cousin is I think a sophomore in high school, or a junior, not that it matters. What really matters here is a certain classmate of hers.

The classmate is named 'La-a.' Except you actually fucking pronounce that little hyphen, so the name is really pronounced 'Ladasha.'

Something to think about when naming your daughter.

Go to Tibet
Ride a camel.
Dye your shoes blue.
Grow a beard.
Circle the world in a paper canoe.
Subscribe to The Saturday Evening Post.
Chew on the left side of your mouth only.
Marry a woman with one leg and shave with a straight razor.
And carve her name in her arm.

And my aunt got scared
And said
You're moving with your auntie and uncle
In Bel-Air.
I whistled for a cab
But when it came
Near, the license plate said
FRESH
And it had dice in the mirror.
If anything I could say
That this cab was rare
But I thought
Naw
Forget it
Yo, homes
To Bel-Air!

I pulled up to the house
About seven or eight
And I said to the cabbir
Yo, homes
Smell you later.
Looked at my Kingdom.
I was finally there.
To sit on my throne
As the Prince
Of Bel-Air.
