What's the difference between spoken verse and written verse? If it operates under the system of grammer, syntax, etc. and is composed on paper in it's conception, what happens to the work once it is spoken?

Examples:
Schopenhauer - The world as will and representation. Changed my outlook on the human condition, and the impossibility of finding a permanent state of happiness (specifically the 58 chapter of the second volume).
