In my opinion the shark lacks a lot of soul to her singing, it's like watching a robot. Sure on a technical level it's fine, but that's really it, there's not as much power or emotion in there. I felt that during the ride on time performance especially. Tatsuro Yamashita's voice in the song has a lot of power behind it and that's what gives the song its soul and elevates it to the status it received, Gura is able to hit the notes, but there's no power to her voice, there's no soul in it. I'd rather watch someone who sounds horrible but is having the time of their life and is going all out with the performance than someone stiffly performing the song correctly. That's why Noel utawakus are a so liked compared to someone that is objectively better at singing.
