Only VN I was able to go through the whole thing after Umineko was Muv-Luv and I thought it was ok, not the best thing ever but pretty good. There are a couple I just haven't finished like Fata Morgana or Heaven's Feel. Only VNs I played I liked a little less than Umineko is Steins;Gate and Higurashi.

7 is pretty good and WIll+Lion make a good detective team. I also agree with Will for the most part about a mystery being shit without the heart/motive of the killer, which is the thing I usually look forward to the most in mystery stories.

The pillow itself was the killer. Hideyoshi and Eva fought bravely, but it wasn't enough to stop the pillow. The feather it left behind in the struggle is the clue to the culprit. By being a pillow, it could also survive the drop and not leave any foot prints.

Either that, or a human culprit took a pillow or two to cushion their landing and not leave any footprints.
