They wouldn't give that low a score to a good sponser. You'd see FF14 get generic 7/10 scores or something instead. Or one of those reviews that say "yeah this game is awesome" for paragraphs and then you get the 6/10 with no explaination at the end.

MMOs are the future babby, killing people in a fps is the same as grinding on mobs on a rpg.

FF14 is the worst MMO i've ever played. They sat around thinking how they could make the game worse and less enjoyable as they made it.

Because that's how reviews work. This is all a business after all.

I couldn't care less if FF14 is actually good or not, because I'm not playing it. But there's a lot going on when reviewers assign a number to a game. Low scores are generally challenges to the publishers. High scores are generally rewards for loyal publishers.

Main reason why I don't bother with game reviews these days. I think only /v/ babbies do to be honest.

Now, I couldn't care less about the crapfest that IGN is, but nevertheless I still think it's kind of encouraging to see a game review score below 8.0.

This thread still belongs on /v/. I'm fine with MMORPGs, but try to keep it on some level of quality, guys. IGN and their scores are a valid topic now? Seriously?

Man that review was awful and like written in 5 minutes. But they can get away with 5 minute reviews for the small guys like NIS America.

At least plenty of other sites gave the game detailed reviews.
