Touhou doujin music thread

Let's try to be civil, I'm trying to expand my Touhou library while downloading as few albums I end up not liking as possible. Thanks.

Recommend an album, give a circle, genre(s), and describe why you liked it. I'll start.

Album: 曼衍珠汝華 ~ Nada Upasana Pundarika
Artist: Demetori
Genre: Rock
Why I liked it: Unbelievably strong rock album, incredibly good covers for some of the newer Touhous. Also, 感情の魔天楼 ~ World's End is amazing. Demetori is also awesome in general, and one of my favorite circles.

It's still okay, though. It's Demetori, after all.

Genre: Disjointed electronica. "Breakbeat" comes to mind, but I'm not entirely certain what that even means.
Why I liked it: Possibly the single most unique and engaging Touhou arrange album I have ever encountered. Circle: MA.S ATTACK
Album: 珍時怪異
>UFO remixes and the Debut of ユタカナウシロ along with two old faces in the circle.
>Ambient, Techno, House, Glitch, Hardcore, essential Touhouketcore.

Reasons for liking: In the sea of trance, rock, and hardcore, this is a very refreshing change of pace, and as a fan of ambient techno, it hits it out of the ballpark for me. I have listened to this just as much, if not, more than some of the Touhou OSTs. ユタカナウシロ did not hold back flexing his muscles of creative, and this is the end result. It's like a gem: Rare and unique.

Genre: Orchestral

Purely instrumental.

If you had listened to t=node's previous albums, you'd probably notice that they use uniquely ambient sounds, such as doors creaking, wind howling (and for this one, some voices), and the arrangements are very unpredictable. Genre: Metal

Purely instrumental.

Well, it's Magnum Opus, and while some people absolutely love them, it's actually a love/hate relationship with em. Actually, I was wondering the exact same question a couple months ago, and decided to dig around for anything that sounded kinda post-rockish. Here's a few artists/circles that I found:

>shameless self-insert
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22kBX4grysM

Here's the DL link for the album of that last song, if you want it. It's not really post-rock; instead, it's got more of a shoegaze/dreampop feel to it.

OP here. well, arguing with Autism-san isn't going to accomplish anything. recommending moar.

Album: Disaster
Artist: Sephiroth (Various artists, including zts)
Genre: Various (Electronic, Classical, Ambient, etc)
Vocals: No
Why I liked it: slow-paced, mostly chill-out. the code zts song is decent, but i like Phantasmagoria more. almost everything in the album is very good, and despite the name of the label, the music isn't bad in the slightest. a very intriguing and well-developed album. please enjoy.

Album: SOUND HOLIC MEETS TOHO 〜東方的幽幻奏曲集〜
Artist: SOUND HOLIC
Genre: Jazz / Orchestra. No vocals

趣 by RD-Sounds

Genre: Ensemble

Instrumental except for two vocal tracks.

Most RD-Sounds' memorable arrangements mostly start off silent, which progresses to some sort of mini-orchestra, and the resulting tone sounds very unorthodox. However, for this particular album, a somewhat jazzy feel was added, and result may be something you might like.

dialogue ~Stella Theater~ by 君の美術館

Genre: R&B

Pure vocal.

God, I love this circle; although this album isn't the best one to start with, since the "pure vocal" tag doesn't really attract people (instrumental fans should get dialogue ~Prim Girl~ instead). Anyway, kimino-museum arrangements sound very professional, and they're probably the only group which uses an accordion. I recommend this one out of pure bias.

Genre: Various

Half vocal half instrumental.

The R7 official compilation arrangement album. Big names here, and there's something for everybody. I'm guessing that that "something" is probably Demetori for most people, as it was for me.

ヤミノアヤカシ by 湯船にプカリと浮かびたい

Genre: Jazz Fusion

Purely instrumental.

A pure SA album with a variety of styles. I treated this as some sort of filler album while waiting for bigger named R7 releases. However, this turned out to be quite nice for some easy listening. Take this if you can't decide on what to listen to.

Last Voise by ⑨ウリバタケ

Genre: Various, mostly rock

Mostly vocal.

The album title is a pun, seeing that this album is a last boss theme arrangement compilation from various circles. I'd be honest; I wouldn't actually recommend this one if not for the extremely catchy Strawberry Crisis (track 3) arrangement which I played on repeat for days. I also wouldn't mind a recommendation which has a similar style to that track too.

Romanization of the album would probably not help, so:

Album: Love Buzz!
Release: Reitaisai7
Artist: Syrufit
Genre: Techno
Why I liked it: Syrufit often participates in composing for Alstroemeria Record's album, so Syrufit shares alot of similarity in genre and vocalist. Recommended if you like similar techno circles such as East New Sound and ALiCE's EMOTiON.

Album: Ms
Release: C77
Circle: XOTIC
Genre: Rock
Why I liked it: Not a terribly popular circle; I downloaded this because the cover is made by the excellent touhou/persona crossover artist. I had no idea it's -almost- sounds like Kishida Kyoudan rock with less solo but more jazz twist. Not totally amazing, 7/10 tier, but still addictive nonetheless.

Why I liked it: CYTOKINE was popular for the epic piano album REINE OKTAVE, but in Reitaisai7 he/she released 492357816, a decent techno genre album. The TOWER is still the same techno genre, but you can listen to the improvement. Strong female vocal. Also cover are self-illustrated by the composer.

Why I liked it: Pretty underrated circle (The post at >>4779997 doesn't help). If I could describe, Tim Vegas' music is like the Touhou's version Utada Hikaru. The genre are diverse from pop, jazz, blues, house, piano, acoustic, to techno all combined to create one totally catchy album with mature female vocals. Very recommended.

Album: White Lotus...
Release: Kouroumu5
Circle: Liz Triangle / lily-an
Genre: Pop/soft
Why I liked it: Vocal. lily-an's voice is soft, deep, boyish but still feminine and very Japanese-sounding; she's like the mature/toho version of Rita. The music compositions might be genericcy animu but they're all very well done, and most of Liz Triangle albums more or less sounds the same like this.
