dont mind me run dont waste your time
in an empty forest a ringing chime
even if you dream of a snowy gensokyo (toho reference)
it wont clear up your heart bro
like the moon on a rainy night
the light fades away from time to time
but now is a once in forever chance
forever chance forever chance
someday ringing to the skies

tryna hate me i know you cannot do it
i gotta stay here but you leave me
drippin water waiting until wings of water grow
for what reason i dont know maybe cuz im uneasy bro
all my pain never make me feel okay
awake leaning against a wall all day
face the blue flame until it fades
be the same all combine into one shade

it gets more cringe someone else can do the rest

愛されてた日々
まだ治らないシャイに
目の前から逃げない様に誓う
I want you to watch知り得ない
想いも見つけないでも 癒えないずっと
I still love her far away
幾度なく 俺は日を跨いで死に行く記憶
いつ迄も恨んでいたい yeah, ayy
腐敗

かまわないで 走ってDon't waste your time
誰もいない森に響いていたチャイム
雪の幻想郷を夢見ても
こころ晴れないよ
雨夜の月のように
あかり 消えfrom time to time
でも今がonce in forever chance
Forever chance, forever chance
いつかringing to the skies

Approximately/About: When used with a numerical expression, "bakari" can indicate an approximation. For example:
10時ばかり (Juuji bakari) - Approximately 10 o'clock.
Only/Just: "Bakari" can also convey the idea of exclusivity or limitation. It suggests that something is mostly or exclusively the thing mentioned. For example:
ケーキばかり食べていた (Keeki bakari tabeteita) - He/she was eating only cake.
ビールばかり飲んでいた (Biiru bakari nondeita) - He/she was just drinking beer.
Continuously/Repeatedly: In some contexts, "bakari" can imply that something is happening continuously or repeatedly. For example:
泣きばかりいる (Naki bakari iru) - Keep crying.
笑いばかりしている (Warai bakari shiteiru) - Keep laughing.

Fun fact: if you pay close attention, you may notice the girl is handcuffed to the pole. This doesn't seem like much until you read the english lyrics of the song. In short, it's about a girl who only feels loved when having lots of sex. Now, what does that have to do with being handcuffed to a pole? Well, dancing on the pole is clearly a metaphor for sex, and handcuffs are obviously for prisoners or being restrained. Her being handcuffed to the pole makes her a prisoner of the pole, and thus, a prisoner of sex.

Japanese starts off fairly easy, gets progressively more difficult for years. Then, suddenly, it becomes easy after you reach n2 (from my experience) because you have a good enough foundation at that point to self learn.

Been procrastinating for a long ass time, and just been overwhelmed at the idea of starting it, plus kept telling myself that I have too many other things to do to really have time for this. However, currently in a period with relatively large amounts of free time, and for some reason the motivational urge just struck me aswell, so think its finally time to take the plunge and start learning japanese, and I really want to stick with it.
Making this post as a time capsule to show when I started, as well as the first bastion in getting myself to continue this.

To future me: a pre-emptive fuck you, since I know exactly what's going on your mind. You'll make as many excuses as you want to try to justify yourself, but its in those moments that you really need to pull through and keep going. Remember, you started this on the 17th of March 2024, and remember how long you were thinking about even doing this. I know this motivational spring will dry up and you'll also have lots of other shit on your mind, but we both know that the worst thing you can do is half-ass this and give up in the middle of it. I'll do my part in not rushing and setting the habits as in to not burn you out, but those low points will still happen, and its up to you to push through those times. I truly believe in what we can do.

The other day while looking for monolingual transition resources, I stumbled upon this fantastic general guide: https://tatsumoto.neocities.org/
Reading through this guide, I found myself impressed at just how well it reflected the problems that I faced while learning, and how thorough it was. It directly confronts the issues of both those looking to learn Japanese by consuming media and those looking to gain as close to native accent as possible.
I am not an expert. I can only speak to my own experiences learning. I can tell you that using near identical methods described in the guide, I was allowed to skip semesters ahead in my college Japanese classes (from an introductory class to an intermediate one) and reached a point where I can comfortably read and enjoy light novels, anime and manga.
I highly recommend this guide to anyone starting out, or even those who are a little more advanced.

except unlike things like multiplication tables they will eventually forget all of the chink words and whatever once they stop doing the cards because they never established any of it into a working language

things like this is another reason why the internet is harmful because theres no filter to save midwits from themselves

consoles back in the day were different, they could only really include 1 language because of space constraints on the physical media. on digitally distributed pc editions they usually just release 1 version globally that has options for each language.
that said no i haven't tried that particular game, but steam store pages are usually accurate. you can always just refund it if it doesn't have the option. steam's refund policy is really good

>> No.46377561

>>46377465
I’ve never bought it, but each game’s Steam page is required to tell you which languages are supported. If it says Japanese, then it’ll let you switch to Japanese.
Steam has a 2-hour, no-questions-asked return policy, so you can never get ripped off, even if the game somehow didn’t have it.

medical students are not doctors. law students are not lawyers.
so let's re-write your sentence.
"primary tool that modern med students and law students use to great success"
and even that is debatable. med students and law students attend college lectures, they have textbooks, form study groups, read journals, med students do lab work, law students probably go see trials or something idk, and yes they probably use anki too.
is it their primary tool? i dont think so, its one of many factors.

I use Wanikani Ultimate 3 and the Genki I/II decks in Anki. It definitely helps. I feel like I'm ahead in my Japanese class knowing more vocabulary and being able to properly read more kanji.
I've tried a bunch of other Kanji decks which were bad, though. It's definitely a waste of time using a deck which only tells you the "meaning", and nothing else.
In the past, I've become aware of "making it" when I dream in the foreign language I'm studying. It happened for Spanish and German, and it's starting to happen for Japanese.

Because all "Core" Anki decks are based on newspapers from early 90s and sometimes additionally sorted in a way that makes learning harder. not him but
the gap between conversational and fluent is huge, im probably around half way to fluency.
conversational means being able to sweet talk a girl for a few hours in a bar, talking about work, hobbies, goals in life, cultural differences, and how cute she looks without making things too awkward for you to hook up later that night. i passed that exam after about 4 years of studying.
fluent means being able to speak with no grammatical mistakes, and choosing the right vocab for the right situation in practically all cases, and making use of the right idioms and set phrases at the right times, and being able to tackle practically any topic.
>or do you have major difficulties that do hinder communication? can you go anywhere and talk with anyone like you would in english?
it completely depends on the subject. you probably underestimate just how good you (and other native speakers) are at your native language(s). you can probably click random on wikipedia, skim the content without looking anything up and then discuss it with a friend. that level of broad mastery takes many, many years to achieve even after you master and internalize all the grammar.
>many people who study for tests like the jlpt, pass it, but they also are not really fluent in the language.
the reality is that being able to understand language comes before being able to use (produce) language, and JLPT only tests understanding. i only go on vacation to japan occasionally so this might be different for people who live there long term, but the gap between what i can understand and what i can talk about is very big.

no it's normal, to an extent even in your native language. it's called active vs passive vocabulary, your passive vocabulary is always significantly larger than your active vocabulary. it's less apparent in your native language because you're fluent but just think about all the obscure fancy pants words you read in novels and understand but would never produce on command in a conversation or even writing
