I just finished reading Erovoice!
Man what a disappointment.
I guess it's barely okay as a nukige?
But there's maaaaybe barely one single CG that isn't just bare minimum vanilla, you can only pick 1 heroine (which means it's completely pointless to force you to choose the same one more than once, since if you ever do anything else you just get a non-descript "meh" ending), and once you pick a heroine everyone else just disappears and is never heard from again.
Also to unlock the route with the boss, you need to clear every other route first, but her route does nothing to deserve that, all the other characters still never appear, and it's basically just a shorter normal route... why waste my time by locking it behind all the others.
Sad.
I was very interested in the H seiyuu stuff aspect of this game, but there's nothing of note about it really.
I had heard good things of H Game (spiritual pre-prequel), but I guess either those were overly generous, or the serie has gone to shit. Also, the art for the ero cgs was really bad here and there.
I think I'll try Ninki Seiyuu next.

I have the exact same set-up, display and sound system. For my PC and consoles.
I am currently laying down in my couch, with my PC, with one PC monitor the side of the table in front of the couch and then the TV on the opposite side of the table. And if I want to use my consoles I just flip the sources on the TV from the PC to the consoles. I've even routed the sound so that I get both the TV and PC sounds into my headphones or sound system at all time.

I haven't been operating my PCs at a desk/officechair in like 15 something years.

The game was released in 2001 originally. In 2003 it had a rerelease that added voice acting and some extra scenes for each heroine. There's a list of what they are here

The English TL was also released in 2003, so apparently there was a timing issue and they didn't get the extra scenes, but they were able to get the voice acting, so the English TL is the original 2001 game but with the voice acting added from the 2003 rerelease version.

I'm thinking of applying to one of these VN companies as a translator. The problem is that while I have a good amount of experience translating manga, it's also kind of sketchy because I've been making money off of those translations, and I'm worried if that'll get me into legal trouble if I put all of that into my resume for a real company. Should I make a "clean" alt identity and do some free translations on there before applying, or should I just be honest about my track record?

If you want to translate manga or light novels, maybe you need a portfolio, but VNs are still so niche that the companies are probably desperate for anyone willing to translate.

It does get a bit better around chapter 4/5ish but it is still inferior in nearly every way outside of maybe having better side girls. The main thing that it lacks though is the chemistry between the characters, and that was what made the original stand out because it would keep giving funny or interesting moments with them while 2 just lacks a lot of that.
