Someone might have some, but not all of the other versions.

>What this is:
Shanghai.EXE was a Touhou-themed Megaman Battle Network clone.
Then the original developer got a C&D from Capcom and shut everything down, just before it was completed.
Luckily, someone leaked a donor-wall demo build, and the whole thing was made in C#, which meant it could be decompiled.
This is a modified/translated version of that demo build, implementing the end of the game following teased content, as well as various QoL changes and bugfixes.
The intent is to finish the rest of the game, which at this point consists of the postgame and some sidequests, with netplay being the final goal.

Promised I'd drop something on the 19th, even if parts would be blocked off with "content in progress", so that's what I'm doing.

Enabled the SP viruses that were already implemented but not added to any area or locked behind Koki's original "game complete" flag that I'd missed.
Added filler NPCs to totally empty areas that felt dead in the postgame.
Recreated BGM player
Lots of internal/editor changes

Cutscenes are finally in but need a bit more work tightening the timing/effects
Battles haven't started implementation, but I have a rough idea of mechanics, planning to refine them once they're playable
Rewards also haven't been started, either will be put in+tested like battles (AddOns, etc.) or will need a bit of planning for mini sidequests or unlocking things.

I'm not very happy with how the dialogue turned out, writing is very much not my focus but somehow I've ended up doing it. Some of it might have been written months apart, so if anything really sticks out I'd welcome suggestions or even something just pointing it out.
Otherwise I'll keep working on the battles and rewards, I'm pretty sure this time I'll have something before Cancelversary 2021 but my track record with estimates has not been great.

I've got no idea what could be causing that, just redownloaded and ran it on both my dev machine and another and can't get that to happen.
Nothing's really sticking out for me as for what could be going wrong, either, I don't think it's a graphics thing since the PA tab is in the same file as the missing background and that's not distorted, but the in the drawing code in order to have drawn the tab it needs to have drawn the background first.
I haven't touched the background, and I have no idea why the x/32 counter isn't showing up.

Were the other tabs working fine? Was it just the save.she copied over into the new build?
I'm completely stumped.

This game has given me untold amounts of joy. As soon as I started the first minute, I couldn't find it in me at all to put the game down until I explored every nook and cranny there was to see. The texture files have changed since the last release, the ones from an old version won't work anymore.
The new files have already been posted suspiciously quickly right under the OP, but it's a new link probably because disposable emails aren't a great idea when mega locks accounts whose addresses are found on "breached" email lists (see also: disposable email).
It'd be more upsetting if it wasn't all randomly-generated garbage, but it's still annoying.

Might be a longshot, but try updating your graphics card driver? If it's an OpenGL support issue (which would be odd since that's is usually one of the basic features of the drivers) it could be screwing up everything down the line in the OpenTK library which also handles key input.

If you're more technically inclined, GLView might be able to confirm things about OpenGL support, but it'd really just satisfy curiosity, I don't really know what I would do with that info.

I updated my computer last night so it definitely couldn't be that. The game flat out doesn't run if i I use OpenGL, but it starts up at the very least if I use DirectX9. Same for my old computer, except I can actually play it on my old computer.

Sadly I don't know how to use gitgud to help. So far the dialogue has been pretty standard with this postgame update, but I can see why you thought it was lacking.

Probably my only, minor criticism is that Shanghai stays petty for a bit too long after the Youmu fight. I don't know how the rest of the script is coming along so I don't have much else to say. Hope the rest of the development works out though!

Thanks for the dialogue feedback, my goal has always been "passable" but staring at the same text day after day throws off my judgement.
I'll go over it a couple more times, padding/cutting dialogue to match up with cutscene length (or adding in more than originally planned) probably didn't help.

Also, if it helps to know by any chance, the thing I loved about the maingame is that every moment kept threading along in a way that made you wanna keep playing. Each moment was always doing something to keep your attention, and give it the most return possible. I actually can't remember a single moment in maingame Shanghai.exe that didn't have something fun going on in some unique, memorable way. Be it through gameplay ideas I didn't know I wanted until I got them, or the scenarios themselves being standout moments to remember in the games.

It'll be harder to do that since this is postgame, but it definitely is something to consider.

The main game is complete, what is being work on now is the post game, which is basically all the stuff Koki (original Dev who got C&D) had planned but never finished.
They were in the game but he never worked on it.
The stuff you see after the story ends is all done by devanon who works on the game. Since the only thing left in the game were lines of dialogue and the heaven area, he has to work on things himself and come up with the ideas.

I've been trying to fix that for a while,WIP4 should have had handling for stuck buttons where buttons need to be released once before being registered by the game/config.
Won't do much for screwy hardware that flips between on and off, but I can try putting in some debouncing if it's still a problem.

It's possible in theory because the Vita had PSM which used C#, but ShanghaiEXE uses a large amount of C# 2019 syntax and PSM is C# 2015.

Also it crashes after the title screen if you try compiling it with Mono in Linux, so that would need to be fixed way before it could be ported to Vita.

Good news is that I've implemented OpenAL for the map editor's sound effects and BGM players, so all the pieces are there for Linux.
Bad news is that it would still be a shit ton of work swapping it into the actual game, I'm looking back at the code and I have a half-aborted attempt to make it swappable like the graphics, which I've completely forgotten why I called off.

I don't know how to do it, it just dumps a stack trace and I couldn't find anything too useful. And I feel like mono isn't too supported compared to monogame on Linux.
