Really late response but some of the dumbest headcanon has come from this past week with people referencing red light districts with monster girls. One such thought was Kumiho being a sort of dominatrix role, with the ground rules being that the customer/future husband wanted to 'completely eaten'. If not a separate species entirely. As well as there being a sort of brothel that acts as not only an introduction to the Cat Kingdom, but caters to both platonic and lewd activities, much like a Cat Café and Whore House mixed together. Yeah, but the profiles are still the "default," as it were, moreso for personality and traits than looks. EVERYTHING being described right now is either a story or individual character otherwise. Without that profile girl to default to, there'd be no point to the MG entries aside from sexy pictures. Comparing profile to profile, even without the harem aspect, Nurarihyon are still the only magical hobos, so they do have that. If the argument to be made against freckles guy and monogamous smoke hobo guy are similar, at the very least you have to admit that they're not on the same level of silliness as far as complaints go.

No, that's what you're arguing, and you're right. even though it does get kind of silly to do so sometimes. As I read it, the original guy was clearly talking about the species as a whole, which would go back to the profile itself and potentially be modified by any other more accurate or specific information we've been provided. You can think the profile is shit and still make a snowflake waifu that basically just looks like monster in question, but that doesn't mean there's no reason to think the profile is shit. The profile/general outlook is one thing, individuals are another.
