The reason it would become shit when translated isn't simply because it would be in english. It's because it would be opened up to /a/, /vg/, reddit, tumblr, and EOPs on VNDB for people to form their shitty normie opinions on. It's harder to like something when you know their opinions exist. Learn to grow up. If you really like something, if you really don't want others to change what you think of it, you should stop caring about other people's opinions about it. It's not like objectively the VN is going to change or anything. It's just because you lack balls to like it as it is.

You know what you should do? Turn your back on all of that. If you can't do that you're either very superficial about the things you like or very immature. Well actually, probably both. When people start "ruining" things I like I simply stop listening to these insults, because if something is good it should out by itself regardless of what others make of it. For instance, the VN itself isn't changing now is it?

If you're still not conviced...:
It really isn't that hard, it's part of growing up. When I was a kid I had a nemesis cousin who used to call me names, and I did the same to him. We usually got very mad but as I was older and stronger, I would chase him to beat him up and stress myself out. At one point I just stopped caring. He could say whatever he wanted and it wouldn't affect me. It was hilarious to see how butthurt he himself felt when he understood that his insults had no effect anymore.

Maybe all this ">shit pile of epicness, memes, misunderstandings, and "you're not supposed to masturbate to the ero, that's creepy!"
has a function, which is precisely to annoy you. Once YOU and only YOU are able to stop that from happening, you'll see that the trolls and other people in general will affect you way less. Then you'll be free to enjoy life and things as much as you want, and you'll be a happier person.

Not to go full moogy or anything, but I imagine it would be rather difficult to translate the Muramasa experience. Stuff like the way Kageaki speaks doesn't really have an English equivalent, and it's kinda important in characterizing his self depreciating I'm-unworthy-of-everything attitude. I'm afraid he's going to end up speaking generic "translated-Japanese-ese" rather than sounding like Kageaki.

And being the nosy person I am, I usually try to take a look at people's screen for fun just to see what kind of person they are.

This dude's screen was rotated in a way so that I could barely see it though, and at one point during the trip he had to reposition himself because of a passenger passing by, and you know what I saw? Fucking 装甲悪鬼村正. Can you believe it? A SUBHUMAN dog shit colored monkey playing 装甲悪鬼村正.

What makes this game so good? The art style is pretty impressive, but the summary for the game makes it seem fairly generic. Are the ero scenes any good, or is it one of those games where you spend 40 hours listening to people ramble on about pointless bullshit, and then you get a poorly drawn ero scene?

They do, I was just giving an example. It's not just anime fandom that does this. It can be argued that Japanese culture tends to attract this kind of elitism from dumb westerners.

>What I'm suggesting is that niche elements within gaming would support a magazine like famitsu.
That's plausible, I guess? I dunno. I just don't think people care that much about keeping a magazine afloat. Certainly not anything close to what you get with idols.

>Which magazines, you didn't bother to specify. I assumed it was gaming magazines not any magazine.
It barely matters at this point, since I misinterpreted your original "part time ota who's really a normie like we have on /a/v/co/" post anyway.

That's because depending on the magazine. You can get enough normal support. The more niche something is the more it has to rely on that model of less people buying more meaning Vippers.

Are you faggots serious? Muramasa isn't nearly as difficult as anything by Soseki, Tanizaki, Kawabata, or Mishima, and those have been in translation for dozens of years. It's not impossible to translate while keeping the meaning, stop kidding yourselves.

>> No.11317004

>>11316988
I'm pretty sure those are translated by professional translators and professors who study Japanese literature rather than some 22 year old kid. Not to mention that just because a translation exists doesn't mean it keeps all of the meaning. I think translations of novels tend to use somewhat frequent translation notes to handle that stuff.

There is no better reason to learn something than for your hobby, I actually enjoy all these "few weeb things" and have been doing so for years.
I actually never regretted learning anything, even stuffs I barely use these days. But you are probably just saying this to justify your laziness.
