Clearly creatures in other mythologies deserve to be made into little girls too. I look forward to a loli nuckelavee whom everyone fears because she rides a headless horse and is supposed to bring plague and death wherever she goes, but she's actually a good girl and her horse is very well-behaved and is really trying to lick people in a gesture of affection, but it always ends up spewing blood all over them and scaring them off because it has no head.

The first Marisa (who escaped and lived in the real world) went back to try to resolve things correctly, however it was not the past but a seperate dimension.

She sealed the Marisa there in a sleep state for 80 years while trying to change Reimu's mind about unleashing the "spell of erasure". Her intent was that she planned on killing the other Marisa and take her place if she had beem sucessful. However, she failed twice.

On her third time she basically threw all the responsiblities on the sleeping Marisa, watching her from behind as Mima. During this time she realised what a fucking douche she was and dropped the intent on killing her and went full on in helping her.

The rest is pretty easy to figure it out. It's just a bittersweat ending
