Just started playing the game. I'm new to MB but not totally new to fighters. I haven't tried out the whole cast, but so far I'm enjoying F-Aoko and C-Nero. Are these characters good to learn the game with? It's pretty unique, even among anime fighters. There any other characters you guys would suggest?

GGs. Is C-Wara your best character? I felt that your H-Nero was stronger than your Wara when I played that one match.

Anyway work on your spacing. I felt like half the times you would jump right into a counter hit, and the other half of the times was you not reacting fast enough to me just rushing and mashing 2A.

GGs but that's hardly average anon, need to mash less during my strings and actually block high when I jump, I'm not even using instant airdash much so those jumpins should be obvious. Oh and get a bnb down and don't drop it, learn what moves are safe to end blockstrings with too, random charged ryougi shit every string works only against total scrubs.

a few years late on the reply, but f-aoko is actually the character i recommend to all beginners. she does mad damage and doesn't require much in the way of execution. f-tohno shiki and f-roa are also like this. imo any of those three would be a good choice and would help you get used to the game.

H-Aoko also ain't too bad, but felt like a step up in difficulty from F. In any case, none of them felt too hard to me and Melty is the first fighter I've gotten into unless Smash Bros counts.

Any f moon is a great starter.
They're for being able to pick up and play in an arcade without learning anything about the game and still win by intentional design.
Staying away from f-wara and f-arc because they're kind of exceptions would be a good idea, but otherwise it's meant to be simple mode. Excellent place to start and remains the best style in general with few exceptions forever so there's no wasted grind learning something just to learn something else.

ggs. You seemed to get hit with instant airdash aerials a lot when in the corner. Learn to go from crouching to standing as soon as you see me jump and back to crouching when you see me land. I also feel like I should see you using jump-ins more yourself, especially with F-Hisui's jC lamp. Her jB and jC both have disjointed hitboxes, by the way. Also learn a few bnb's, of course. An easy one with F-Hisui is to hit with 5C or 2C (after whatever else), then move to 3CC jBC jBC AT.
Careful about reversals, too. Those saved me a lot as Arcueid.
Also, the slashes from Nanaya's AAD can be sidestep or backstep dodged. Dodge as soon as his image disappears after passing over you.

>> No.9986199

>>9984433
Whew that was a session, late response but here's what I thought.
I like that you've picked up C-WLen as well. I believe you won't suffer as much once you learn her.
Mm okay... seems like you started blocking more and more patiently. Keep that up, I know that throws and overheads can be scary, but from here on out it is where reading your opponent improves your game. Don't forget about the 1AD option select for throws and remember all your options during blockstrings. An example I liked, was that you tried dodging my staggered strings as F-Kouma, if I made them tighter learn that bunkering is an option as well. Like when I was trolling with F-Ries 6C2A frametrap. As for upping your reactions, you just gotta practice going against the various strings that you have trouble with in Training Mode. Dummy record it, random it, and try everything.
I didn't punish it a lot but don't learn the habit of wakeup heating, I still have issues with that myself.

>> No.9986383

>>9986199
It definitely was quite a session, thanks for the advice.
I think part of the reason I was blocking more was because I was playing characters I'm not familiar with, although I guess it doesn't really matter why if it gets me out of the habit of trying to mash through blockstrings. I didn't even know there was a 1AD option select, so thanks for that. And against the F-Ries 6C2A I was actually trying to bunker, but I kept missing the window to input it.
I would try the strings in training mode, but I don't think I understand them well enough to replicate them, which might be why they work so well against me.

F-Aoko guy here, thanks for the advice. Right now I'm working on getting some BNB's down. Pretty much what I have nailed is:

2A 2A 5B 2B 2C 3C j. BC j.BC j.214C (or air throw if I don't have the meter) land 5(C) (if I did j.214C). Does some pretty nasty damage and it works anywhere. Other than that thing I'm trying to zone with projectiles and balls/tk balls and stick balls on people's heads when I knock them down. Is there anything else I should be working on for her? Any good mixups besides sticking overheads in my blockstrings and keeping people locked down with 214C?

When you host your IP and port should automatically be added to your clipboard, just paste that to the thread. If it doesn't work still please type it out completely, clients can copy it and use the join from clipboard option instead of entering it manually.

I'll stop here for now, it's just getting silly with the desynchs. I tried with and without the tool, didn't make much difference on my end.
GG and thanks for playing.
Hope next time our connection will be a bit better.

Ggs. Next time, then.

C-Ryougi is really good with blockstrings, which makes it quite scary to mash out. T_T

GGs. Kohaku's ridiculous range is one more reason why I should probably be playing H-Ryougi or F-Ryougi instead of C.

Still fun to experiment with block strings on you since you don't mash like most people do.

The proper thing to do if you want to play is host. If you're unable to you're at the whim of when someone else wants to play. It's early in the first world, check back in the evening.

I haven't played this since 1.2, months and months ago. Just tried now and the keyboard controls were all fucked up. Found this thread and grabbed the 1.4 DDL, but I can't figure out how I'm supposed to rebind the keyboard controls and there's no readmes for this. What the fuck do I do? There's Keybinder.exe that doesn't seem to do anything, MBAACC Keyboard Config.exe which is in moon, and mbaacctool.exe tells me "Could not find keyboard configuration table."

I'm totally lost here, guys.

>> No.10030442

>>10030430
>"Could not find keyboard configuration table."
This means that mbaacctools couldn't find the table in the executable since it searches for the default values. You need to download the fix14kbd.exe and patch the main executable for you to rebind your keys through mbaacctools.
