Hello /jp/ could you help a poor noob and my friend set up Touhou 9 online play.

We both have the game up and running, but the steps for adonis are confusing.
I think it's a port issue, but I'm not certain. We've both unblocked th09e on windows firewall.

Also I'm on Vista and he's on 7.

I'm fairly certain one of you needs to forward ports, either that or use Hamachi.

We both have 12/14 characters. No Eiki or Yuka.

Adonis crashes for whoever is trying to be the client.

If we try without adonis we both are stuck at "Waiting for Connection/Seeking Youkai"

We can both connect, but it's super slow.

Could a kind anon link or describe how to set up Adonis or Hamachi for Touhou 9?

Try running as administrator and/or windows 95/98 compatability.
If all else fails, you can try achieving connection via Hamachi.

Also who crashes? Is it the client? Both?

When adonis asks you for a number between 0-9, that is the chosen synchronization rate or so, you should get best results with the default option.

Sounds like adonis is giving a "Connection failed" error message, you should look up on forwarding ports or setting up Hamachi.

The default PoFV Netplay is kind of bad, you're pretty much required to use adonis.

Make sure you...

- Have forwarded the port(s) you are using to play, (for both TCP/UDP thingamajigs)
- >>9974764 recommendation about the characters, get a complete score.dat
- Have added an exception for adonis(e).exe and for the game executable in the windows firewall.
- Check if your antivirus is fucking shit up, temporary disable firewall or revise its rules.
- Swap filenames from th09e.exe th09.exe, I had to use the japanese version with adonise.

It happens when I forget to forward the port.

I have Win7 x64 and I can play perfectly with other Win7 user using adonisV2 (get it on the wiki, supposedly improves things, works fine so far).

The higher the selected latency, the higher your input lag will be, but the game will run smoother. The farther you are from the other player, it'll run worse.

We can get past the connection error.
Adonis says the game is starting.

It looks like it attempts to open, but it crashes immediately.

i've solved a similar issue some time ago. can't remember what exactly did it, but both of you should try deleting th09.cfg and running the game menu once before closing it and connecting through adonis again.
