General NEET thread (the other one is auto-saging with 350+ posts)

How are you doing today? Are you comfy and taking it easy? The hurricane is coming!

To answer the anon's question:

>How do fellow NEETs deal with black heads? My nose has quite a few of them, possibly due to poor diet or sitting in front of a monitor all day(?)

>I shower almost everyday and I've tried to use facial cleaning pads and facial wash such as neutrogena, but nothing seems to make a difference. I have bad complex with people looking directly at me or getting close to my face because of it.

There is this strip that goes onto the nose and you peel it off. Or you can use a comedome extractor which pops the black head out.

But I'm currently trapped between wanting to be comfy forever and knowing that this is only a short rest. In some time I'll be made to get into some uncomfortable activity again. Maybe a month, maybe next year.
I think if I had some security I would feel much better. If I could do something that assured I could keep doing nothing for as long as I wanted, I would be liberated from many pressures. But mingling with people for eight hours every day? No, that's too much. Now, two hours...

Not drugs. Well, not in my case.
It's about the underside of taking it easy. I don't want to do anything, but I know I'll pay these years of comfyness with five times the suffering. I know that and it doesn't motivate me to do anything. I'm either unable to care or an idiot. Probably both. It's like watching a needle aimed at your eye come slowly. Slowly. Taking years. And one day it'll pierce your eye and it won't stop until it goes through your brain and then you'll only be an invalid until you die.
What to do, then? "Just go out and get a job or study something" hasn't worked for years.
I'll need a serious session of genki music to wash the corrosive aftertaste of this movie. At least I don't do drugs. There's a chance it could do me good.

Also, why the fuck does this guy have ornamental swords in his room? I found it funny.

I'm getting financial aid to go to a local community college. I'm failing one of my classes because I really don't want to be there--I don't care about college at all.

Once this semester is over, my financial aid will be on probation. Clearly I should refrain until I actually give a shit, rather than wasting my own chance at free college.

NEETs of /jp/, don't let anyone pressure you into doing anything with your life. If you don't care about your future, then you'll only make it worse by trying to force yourself through it.

Honestly, though, stupid as it is I don't learn much from my classes. I learned more as a NEET, studying independently. Funny how that works.

Working on a Computer Science degree.

I was a NEET shut-in for 6 years.

I measure learning by long-term memory and immediate recall of relevant information and facts. The more I have to memorize, the more I learn.

Basically, more information = more learning. I read through my biology textbook already, and it doesn't have much content. It's 700 pages of 10 pages worth of information, covered repeatedly throughout each chapter, sprinkled with irrelevant information and short stories about biologists. I could have learned more than the months I spent in this class reading no more than six wikipedia articles.

>> No.9953655

There have always been two types of NEET. One seems genuinely happy and content living a life with a dim future and minimal social interactions.

The other is pretty much the opposite in that they long first and foremost for social interaction. Most everything in their life is governed by their desire for interaction. Following that they would like a promising future, which usually means worrying about entering schooling or training of some sort eventually in the future. Finally, they're discontent with the labels society has put on them and would like to change their lives for the "better".

Disgusting people, that second group. They really are the lowest of the low. Especially all the people here wanting to get a job, longing for friends outside and being depressed about their NEET lifestyle. Just die already if you are so sad about your NEET life.

Uh actually, men in tribal societies are constantly hunting. That's work. The women in these societies are always having to walk around and forage for edible insects, nuts, fruits, etc. that's work too. They work hard for their food.

Tribal people also have sickeningly high infant mortality rates, and are at high risk for insect-born diseases like malaria, elephantiasis, and parasites like botfly and pinworm.

Nobody wants to live in a mud-hut. Tribal societies are being held back in the stone age by green politicians who DON'T want them using pesticides, DON'T want them using fossil fuels, DON'T want them using genetically engineered corn; we're denying them access to everything that made first-world society first-world. I've been taking a lot of pills to keep taking it easy, but I don't think I really need them.. The past few days I've been taking far too many and will run out before I can get more if I continue. I guess I have a psychological addiction, but it's nice to not feel like myself. Today I will be having a medical procedure done on my liver, as I am presently a fairly unhealthy individual. I suppose I'm anxious about it.

It's rare these days because of the pills I take, but I felt genuinely lonely the other day. Sometimes it's difficult to let go of desiring social interaction. I think I'll be okay if I can just calm down and not rely so much on medication to make me feel better.

Life can be really unfair, but I hope everyone is able to find something that can keep them strong. It's difficult, I know, but I really think there are things out there worth living for. Normals might not seem so caring, but they suffer as well.

I made the mistake you describe. I let myself be pressured into college before I was ready/wanted to/gave a shit and I squandered my chance at free college. This was about 6 years ago.

I've mostly been in a near-NEET hell since I haven't had my own room since early high-school and my family makes it very difficult (but not in a helpful way).

I'm trying to pull enough pieces of my life together to point towards something, even if it's an extended period of full blown NEET/hikki... it's looking more and more like that'll be the case.

Soon I'll go on SSI, something /jp/ made me realise I can do. Then I'll get my own place far from my family, and... be alone.

I'm scared, guys.

I hope I won't be made fun of for this, but lately I've been enjoying the more recent Sonic games. Growing up, he was that video character I most enjoyed. Not Mario, or Samus, or Link. Sonic. Somewhere around the move to Gamecube, I lost interest.

Recently for the hell of it, I downloaded Sonic Generations after seeing the trailer. I don't know what's happened with the story, and I don't really care. This game was fun. Maybe the 3D version has matured, or maybe I played through the thing with some pretty thick nostalgia goggles. I don't know. Certain levels, specifically the older ones from the Genesis games, with their updated themes and designs, put tears in my eyes.

Since I don't own any consoles, I've lately been watching videos of people playing some of the recent 3D games and I can't believe how great some of the levels and effects look, and the music is even catchy. Some of the zones are even a bit cute.

Plus, in Generations at least, Tails is voiced by Ryou Hirohashi, who also did the voice of Yamada in that Working anime.

Goes without being said. Even an utopia has conflicts sometimes. They wouldn't be as ridiculous as they are today, though. The thing that is destroying the planet right now is inequality and a fundamentally broken system that allows for that kind of disparity. If that is changed, most of the present-day problems are gone already.

>always
You don't know that. You can sit from a distance at your computer typing up reasons for why it wouldn't work, but you'll never get anywhere with that kind of attitude. History means very little, as the supposed 'communist' or 'socialist' societies were still very corrupt and the underlying intentions were just as bad as capitalism.

I still laugh at how 4chan doesn't understand what sage means.

If only I knew moon so I wouldn't have to spend time on a board that imports foreign concepts and then DOES IT WRONG all the time.

Using sage as a way to "insult" someone's post or thread is just completely wrong and a retarded misuse of a good feature that is so popular in sites like 2ch and Futaba. Fuck, iichan and 4-ch do it right. It's just 4chan and 4chan's lame knockoffs that fail at using sage.

The true meaning of sage means that YOUR POST isn't worthy enough to bump the thread. It's ironic, because you think that you're insulting others while you're just, in fact, insulting yourself. Yes, sage can be used when posting a derogatory comment in a thread that you don't want to bump, but posting with just the word "sage" accomplishes nothing but contribute to spamming the board. The trend of replying with the name of a tripfag and sage is even worse, as it accomplishes nothing and only serves to increase the e-penis of whoever you're "attacking".

The sage feature was never meant to serve as an implied insult or general disagreement! Why people started using it that way is beyond me. There are plenty of reasons why one would choose not to bump a thread with his reply. For example, bumping threads with stupid one liner replies should be discouraged and those people should be coerced into using sage instead.

I want to use sage, yet I almost never do it on 4chan because people will jump on me thinking I'm insulting their post or something.

I went outside for the first time in a very long time today. Had to take the bus, too. Some lady was really mad at some other lady because she rushed ahead of her and took her seat. In response to that, she coughed in her face very loudly multiple times and said she hopes she gets her flu. That's how upset she was that somebody took her seat on the bus. Then the lady that was coughed on called the lady that coughed on her a bitch.

Remember /jp/, we are at the top of the world. We are the ones who elevate humanity to a higher level of consciousness and peace from the primitive binds of the current system.
