The H-scenes are just not written to be pandering to the audience, was my take on it. They're not designed to be the kind of thing where "You've reached an H-scene! Time to whip out your dick and masturbate to it, and we'll continue the plot when it's done!". They're just very realistic, relatively speaking. Sometimes sex is funny, sometimes sex is passionate and romantic, sometimes sex can be a mistake, and KS's various H-scenes fall into those various categories.

I don't know how you managed to get the impression that they wrote the H-scenes practically begrudgingly, unless you purposefully avoided getting immersed in the story and found out that the H-scenes don't contain hips that are moving on their own and all that other stuff.
