Seems to stop responding a lot for me recently and just result in a pop up screen with nothing ever loading. I've given up on using it and just went back to middle clicking them.

There's another pixiv addon that lets you add a hotkey to one-click-save pixiv images, but it seemed to have disappeared from my list when I updated firefox.

I like pixiv because I can block guro images and because japanese version of furry isn't an abomination to the eyes so I can tolerate it being mixed in.

I hate pixiv any time I open up one of those multiple image sets. The thumb view loads instantly, but the full sized scrolling view takes forever to load the pictures.

It also needs to be exactly one of few selected subjects danbooru users decided I want to search for. And it's not hard to find out the popular phrasing - on Pixiv, where I can type in the non-exact term and check similar tags. On boorus, I'll get no results until I do some roundabout crap like:

1. Think of some previous picture of this kind.
2. Search by character(s) I think featured in it.
3. Browse through 10 pages of results to get to it.
4. Find out there's no tag for what I'm looking for.

I found it increasingly not worth it except for few specific cases.

I have a script that filters and downloads Pixiv search results based on mean favorite count per page, so that only a few pictures per page will be downloaded. However, I notice that I still have to delete 50-60% of that stuff anyway, so I'm looking for something like an interactive downloader that lists/previews pictures before actually downloading them. I don't ever bookmark images, but you can just check who bookmarked the image and get what I assume is the same functionality.

But the best thing on Pixiv are dedicated people (read: autists with way too much time on their hands) who bookmark every single picture of a specific type. If on of them shares your interests (read: fetishes), you'll never have to use the search anymore.

I'd very much appreciate an rss feed for my favorite artists (one for each). I know the recent posts by your favorites show on the front page, but it's not the same.

Finding covers or previews for stuff artists were selling in an old comiket sucks, since I can never find scans or anything.

This is a pretty big deal. If you browsed the boorus before Pixiv arrived you would know how many contributors exist on danbooru who have access to giant bookmark lists of artist sites and artist meta-sites and who upload pictures from those.

When Pixiv arrived, it largely diminished the need for such actions, but there are still a lot of artists who post some things only on their own website or on sites intentionally-distanced from pixiv because of their elitist attitude (Think: artists who won't use deviantart because of its "reputation").

In short, gelbooru will always be a inferior ripoff because of the userbase.

So many people ITT underestimate the usefulness of aggregator sites. I'll give you reasons why you should use and support those sites:

Pixiv artists have a nasty habit of deleting their pictures or accounts without warning. Pictures saved on aggregator sites stay safe even if they get deleted from pixiv. To give you a perspective: current pictures tagged with bad_id (which means pictures that is no longer on pixiv) on danbooru amount to 140,000; that is 140,000 pictures saved from obscurity.

Secondly, many pixiv artists have their own sites/blogs and not everything on those sites/blogs get posted on pixiv. Aggregators did a great job collecting images from those countless artist sites. Or even from another art sites such as deviantart and nicoseiga.

Then, there are these things like tags, pools, and wiki. They make searching for overly-specific images easier.

And finally, there's the awesome translation system. You can get manga/doujin and even individual images translated without altering the images. This is especially useful for SFW doujin that is not lewd enough for hentai sites.

See? They're not so bad after all, eh?

I use Danbooru because of all the tools that make using it a good choice and the fact that it's properly tagged and has a decent amount of art for most things.

Technically same resources (Firefox extension, imgbrd-grabber) work on other boorus but since I like my pictures to be somewhat tagged I rather just use Danbooru.

If you don't mind saving in batches (I do) then imgbrd-grabber can batch save from every single relevant booru at once.
