Occasionally local hobby shops or anime shops might have them (I know some of the places selling them at conventions do have physical stores) but more often than not they're cheaper online.

I've found some, but it's mostly mainstream stuff like One Piece and DBZ. Overpriced too. Don't even bother.

You might be able to find one around where you live.

I found one and the prices are decent but its still $15-$35 more than ordering online. Also, there wasn't much to chose from.

Usually one of the cheapest places for getting a figure you want to display will be mandarake, which was linked a few pages up. Occasionally amiami or hobby search will have older ones, but they mostly do preorders. You should also at least check Amazon.com and ebay. For more expensive ones yahoo auctions Japan is an option, but then you need to get a proxy and it is a bit of a hassle.

SAL Small Packet on something small like a figma is about 600 yen, on large statues more like 1500, and if it's a huge figure with giant wings or some shit that's too big for small packet you get bumped up to express shipping that costs a ton.

don't forget handling costs. usually about 6-8$.

Just go to mandarake and try to order something. They'll send you a email in 3 days telling you if they have it in stock or not, and how much the total cost will be. If you don't want it, just don't confirm the order

Yep, yep. I saw some awful nendoroid bootlegs at a local store one time. The sad thing was that they were charging 30-40 bucks for one.

Don't forget that they slap you with a 500yen handling charge if it the order is under 5000. That makes the figure ~$13+. Add shipping and you're looking at at least $20 for an originally $6 figure.

Mandarake is only good if the price is significantly discounted from asking price and/or it's a rare and hard to find figure. One should always check Amiami or HLJ first.
