MMO is a stagnating genre, with decade old gameplay; and every change they add to ``spice it up'' turns it into some ugly hybrid gameplay with no appeal.
See terra & rift. Two of the worst mmo to be released, yet so ``inovating''.

MMO are going down the same path as FPS as well, where graphism and gimmicks are the most important features.

Also, artificial lifespan lenghening through heavy usage of downtime and shitty xp/drop rates, as well as artificial ``endgame'' that is some dumb item hunt on item you have to drop.

And every single of those modification that turn a potetially good game into shit is what they rely on to get their money flowing in.


To answer your auestion OP, I've paused playing GW2 until they actually add guild vs guild in a game named GUILDWARS 2.
I'm currently playing some RPG with another /jp/er.

Because MMO and RPG gameplay are almost the same; it's all about raising an efficient character and finding good way to get xp.
RPG have fewer exploits, no random spergs and a storyline that might be worth being bothered with.
