I think it's rather interesting that the main thread linking Byakuren, Miko, and Kanako, besides the obvious religious ones, is their overwhelming fear of death. Byakuren taking up dark sorcery, Miko ruining her health with Mercury, and Kanako uprooting her entire shrine to move to Gensokyo.

They're all so fearful that they'd do anything to escape that fate.

Now, if you had to make me choose, I'd align myself with Toyosatomimi no Miko, because of her humanity. Both Byakuren and Kanako view humans as essentially fodder, or at a lower point in the food chain, while at least we're pawns to Miko.

Byakuren, with the location pinpointed by Suwako, plopped her temple right on top of Miko's Mausoleum in an attempt to seal her away again.

Miko, as incredibly charismatic as she is, would absolutely destroy Byakuren or Kanako is any popularity contest.

Good choice, but Byakuren would be a better one in my opinion. She genuinely believes that a path to peaceful coexistence between youkai and humans exist, and I think that's a noble goal.

She fought the heroine in TD just after being ressurected, so she was weak from that. Also, because her Resurrection was a success, she had no reason to actually give a damn during her fight with the heroine.

So really, you're righting Miko at super low capacity in TD. TD was made easy because UFO was super hard, so it makes sense.

Miko is the strongest, and it will show.

I wasn't talking about canon. The guy said Miko would win against them in any popularity contest, so I posted the official Touhou popularity poll. But if we're talking about canon, I'd think that Byakuren is more popular than both of them because she has both humans and youkai worshiping in her temple while Kanako mainly has the youkai of the mountain and Miko has humans.
