Hello, first-time /jp/ poster here.

I am considering ordering a doujin from a Japanese website, but I'm not really sure how to go about that. The obvious difficulties in navigating the website aside, I don't know if I would need an intermediary purchasing service, or anything like that. I also have no idea how legitimate this website is.

Another, somewhat separate question is, were I to actually receive this doujin in the mail, if I scanned it, what would be the likelihood of finding someone willing and able to translate it?

You will need to use a proxy shipping service. Toranoana does not ship internationally. They also don't ship to the better-known services. The chances of it being randomly translated are low. If you want it translated reliably, you will want to commission it.
