I was playing GW2 until the people I was playing with stopped logging on and pvping.

This is the first time in a long time that I haven't been playing an MMO or had something on the horizon that I've been looking forward to. It feels a bit disappointing but it's nice being able to get a lot of stuff done without getting sucked into a game.

When I first looking through /vg/ a few days ago, I thought it looked pretty neat.

Then I noticed the threads read worse than tripe I could witness at places like Reddit or Gamefaqs. Sometimes the threads even reminded me of the ancient troll pictures with choice posts cropped from Gaia threads. The threads were full of people using avatars, posting with names and trips, and generally acting like obnoxious 12-year-olds who wandered onto 4chan at the library during lunch break. More posts were directed at non-Anonymous users about non-related subjects, than were directed at the thread topic.

I was so disgusted I threw up on my keyboard and then couldn't use my computer for a couple days while my keyboard dried after cleaning it.

It was the worst thing that happened to me this year.

/vg/ seems to have a very diverse userbase, depending on the generals.

From what I hear the LoL threads are the worst and the KS people have to be retarded anyways. The games that appeal less to normals, like threads about retro games, or hardcore shit like Dwarf Fortress have normally a lower concentration of normals and thus a higher intelligence level on average.

They even have an Alicesoft general, which mainly got created because someone started translating the Rance games (6/8/3 and something else) and is largely an update thread about the translation, with other Alicesoft discussion as filler.

i just asked namae about wizardry and using the steam chat for NDA chatting but he said the privacry and invite system is pretty bad maybe, if you really need to keep it private it would be hard with random people who arent friends otherwise. also memory leaks on steam chat but he said he can unlock the chat or keep lock on or whatever if we need
