In Japan, a book called "philosophy girls" was published. I place the illustration of philosophers here.

Marx's hair is a bit too short for my tastes in almost all of the illustrations, she certainly needs hair impressive enough to rival Marx's legendary beard (and where's Engels? There ought to be Marx/Engels yuri). And Socrates seems a bit young to be a mentor figure to Plato and Aristoteles, I always imagined those as a family where Socrates is the wise but eccentric and lazy elder sister who never writes books and spends all her time strolling around the town and talking to random strangers, Aristotle is the bright and energetic little sister who is immensely curious and keeps bringing home things like whales and cow carcasses so that he can find out whether whales are different from fish or whether dead cows really produce bees and Plato is the reliable, hard-working middle sister trying her best to keep her sisters' antics in check. I'd have expected Wittgenstein to look crankier, too, and Machiavelli is far too happy to be a scheming mastermind, but I guess that's what she wants you to think.

But that's just nitpicking, in any case this is a splendid compilation. Locke and Diogenes are perfect fits in particular, and the wheel-leviathan illustration for Hobbes is great. Thank you for sharing it.

Well, Nietzche wasn't that much of a nutcase, he began with good intentions and slowly descended to not so much madness as utter disappointment with modern society as a whole. His later works are mostly his (admittedly crazy) attempts to fix where humanity went wrong. His later books were hilariously condescending, though. I'm pretty sure that at one point he explicitly tells his readers that he is not going to provide any argument to support his ideas and that if the reader can't figure out how he arrived at his conclusions then he can get the fuck out of his book. Surprisingly fitting for an ojou-sama.

As an aside, I like this Siddhartha. It's her prior to enlightenment, I assume?
