The manga was long and repetitive.

The original InuYasha anime started out good and turned repetitive.

The movies were well-animated, but plot-wise, they weren't anything special.

InuYasha: The Final Act was actually a very entertaining anime tainted by its predecessor.

The hate for InuYasha stems from a small amount of users on /a/ from 2004-2006 that sage bombed every single InuYasha thread, much like they do now for Naruto threads despite Naruto not being as bad either. Holy shit. Last time I tried to catch up due to dropping it countless times was a bit after Saske's faggier brother died or something.

The ink effects that Saske's brother used sucked ass. It was worse than any other Shonen at the time and it still haunts me to this day.

I don't know how is it not bad nor would it redeem itself after that shit, maybe it was better done in the anime.

I don't think anyone hates Inuyasha that much on /a/. It's only bad because of how long it spent on Naraku or whatever his name was. It was a good show starting off but then it became not about fucking up monsters and collecting jewel pieces but instead about chasing that baboon faggot and powering up swords with various colors. If they just killed that fucker and moved on to Inuyasha fighting his brother or anything else it would have continued being good.

Those OPS and EDs were pretty good too.

I used to play everquest online on the ps2, and I would put the other tv I had in my room in adult swim and have it as background noise. As I got older, they showed it less and less, and whenever it was on, it reminded me that it was sunday morning and I should go to sleep.

You have a famous, talented writer with nothing but great series to her name, and then she shits out... this crap? Really? That's why Ranma 1/2 ended? What the fuck.

Touhou is a bit like Ranma 1/2 by the way. Everyone is a jerk and every conflict is solved by conveniently nonlethal fighting. Add good characters and the story pretty much writes itself. I don't know what's stopping others from reusing the formula. Inability to create good characters, I guess.

Inu-yasha's plot and writing, in comparison, are abysmal, even for the most generic of fightan shonen. You can't fucking make the main character farm on everyone around and expect him to keep the moral high ground at the same time. Oh, but wait, they're conveniently either evil or killed by someone evil first, so it's okay. Right, whatever. And that doesn't even begin to describe how awkwardly forced the plot is. And I read quite far into the story, being a fan of Takahashi and all, and I weep for every second of life I wasted that way. I'm glad this pile of shit killed her career.
