You could become an adventurer.
Best way I think is to go into business and then once you have enough money and investors you could found an archeological society to tackle mysteries that no one else touch, because the y don't know how to.

Shall we make this an /jp/ Adventure thread?

Sooooo...../jp/ Adventure Thread?

The Canary Islands, a series of Islands off the north west coast of Africa......Once home to the White Indian Tribes of the Guanches.

They had built many monuments and pyramids. Many of their pyramids were torn down after the Spanish had conquered them in the 1400's, but several still exist. A mighty proud people that towered over the Spanish in the decades of war against them.

The Guanches practiced mummification and many mummies were actually eaten my Europeans as an urban remedy for sickness, but some still exist.

The Guanches stored their ancestor's mummies in caves. 5 caves are known to be discovered, but the Guanches claimed there were 20......

Let's go find those caves /jp/, but we can't tell the Spanish government, because they try to deny parts of their heritage and existence on the account that the peoples in the country sides of the Canary Islands want to separate from Spain.

If you want to buy this book go here.

It's a bit difficult to explain, but I'm going to try it

The universe is divided into different "layers" all of which exist at the same time, on the same place.
However, most people are confined to the "layer" they were born in, and do even know other layers exist. These layers are not separate, they are just different properties of the matter that surround us. For example, in our layer, the place we know of as New York is a concrete hive located in North America, but on a different layer, it could be a lush rainforest, a desert or it could be nothing at all.

Some people are able to leave their bodies when they sleep, and visit different layers while dreaming, but not interact with them. I like to think I do that when I sleep. I've been visiting the same planet for several years now, there are 3 recurring characters I really like

Well, the basic idea is that you disconnect your mind from body, and then your mind is free to go almost wherever you want it to go, be it other places on earth, other planets, other dimensions. Supposedly you can create new places as well. I haven't learned to do it but I am thinking about trying soon.

There is debate over whether it's actually real, or if its just another form of lucid dreaming, but I suppose there's no way to really know without doing it.

Japan might be a shithole, but I still long to experience all the impressions I got from the cartoons on my own. I mean obviously not as a tourist, because you can't reproduce day-to-day life.
Hell, romantic poets in the 18th/19th century must have felt the same about ancient Greece/Rome or the lives of Noble Savages.
Sometimes I even feel genuinely out of place in my boring European country because I came to view Japan as more ... can't express it. Homely. "Correct".
For example, I have to remind myself manually that we don't have convenience stores here. Closest to that are gas station. Or that school clubs aren't heard of here (and general "school pride" things).

>you won't be magically happier there

Chances are he would actually be much unhappier.

Let's face it, aside from its pop culture, Japan is an awful place full of people who won't let you take it easy. It's a society full of little social circles which you can never enter. Behind the polite facade of many Japanes people lies something horrible. That's because the concept of humanism never really gained a foodhold there. Your social position determines your value as a human. If your position is shit, people will treat you like shit. There is a reason why Japan has such a high sucide rate. This country can make you miserable like nothing else.

People often bitch about the racism in Japan, but if you look closely, it's only natural. You're an ousider in a collectivistic society. Someone with no bonds. Your whole existence is something pretty vague, resembling more a fairy than a human.

It's a good place to visit, but living there? Think twice.
