Welcome, Moon-and-Star, to this place where destiny is made.

I tried to play Morrowind yesterday, but my CD drive is broken and I couldn't be bothered to download an ISO.

I actually put this computer together for Morrowind, and I haven't upgraded it since. Maybe I should.

I come bearing the only good piece of Japanese Morrowind fanart. For whatever reason, they seem to prefer Skyrim and Oblivion, perhaps because Morrowind just wasn't as widely well-known or advertised. Still, though, you'd think that people would be interested in prior games in a series when a new game comes out.

>>9805037
You should.

>> No.9805049

I wish I could still play "normal" video games. I just get bored of them instantly. The only ones I can still play are old S/JRPGs I've already played once or multiple times. Only very rarely I can find a new game that I'll play.

Mind sending me a few hundred monies?

Morrowind is pretty immersing once you get into it. It's all about getting past the initial, boring hour or two.

It probably didn't get a Japanese release like the others.

I meant that you should download an ISO.

>>9805061
That and Oblivion was one of maybe three Western games to get higher than a 37/40 in Famitsu at the time.

Morrowind is one of the few games that isn't a shmup that I enjoy. One of my favorite games. Though I don't even have it installed on this new computer.

I am the same. Are we depressed or something? I can't find much enjoyment from games anymore.

I guess I'll find some highly acclaimed titles and see if they're any fun. Maybe BioShock, or Fallout? Borderlands? Deux Ex? Who knows...

I'm really not a fan of WRPGs, I don't think I ever actually finished one.

>>9805079
Bioshock was pretty fun but I just stopped playing it for some reason and never went back to it. Didn't play the other two.

I used to download those kinds of games and give them all a few hours before I stopped but now I don't even bother anymore.

Heh, yeah. I can usually recognize games as "good" or "fun," but I always stop in the middle and never go back. I don't know.

How about you look for games that you think you'd personally enjoy rather than games that the mass public enjoys? Because if you just go looking for popular games you're only going to be disappointed. Here's something you might like.

I just figured I might have a higher chance of liking games if most people enjoyed them.

Wow, that chart is pretty overwhelming. I'll take a look through it.

Just note that Mystery of the Druids is actually a fucking terrible game and is only on there as a joke. The rest of them are serious, though as always personal preference comes into play.

This list is pretty solid.

M&M 3, Wizardry 8, and Jagged Alliance 2 are all highly recommended.

I wish there was more genre direction on that chart. I mean, you got Grim Fandango, Amnesia and Recettear...

>> No.9805148

You forgot Princess Maker 2!

It's not really about genre cohesiveness, though, so much as games that fa/tg/uys in general have agreed, after much bickering, are pretty decent. It's not on the list, but I'd also add Age of Wonders 2 + Age of Wonders Shadow Magic. Maybe I'll bring that up next time.

>> No.9805168

So many people play games these days. I guess I should give it a try too. Maybe I'll take Sleeping Dogs for a run, since I like detective/noir stuff.
