Nurarihyon no Mago is in all but name a Toriyama Sekien fanbook that somehow found its way to Jump. If you're versed in Sekien's works you'll love it because of all the little references dropped in. If you're not, you'll have to read around a bit to keep track of who's who, but since it has a huge following there's likely a list out there for even the one-panel references. But the real go-to youkai series is Gegege no Kitaro, though Hell Teacher Nube is also animated if memory serves and Shoujo Kidan Makora is also good (but it is not adapted into a series, so you'll have to read it.)

Also, a Gu Touhou would be nice. Those are minor fortune gods created by re-enacting Highlander with every poisonous critter one could find, where the sole victor gained the poison of all its vanquished enemies and became a sort of vermin-god that brought good fortune to its owner (usually by killing anyone that looked at him funny). There were as many variants of gu as one could think of poisonous creatures to pit up against one another, and a complex rock-paper-scissors mechanism existed between each variant (where a centipede-gu would be neutralized by the a frog-gu, which in turn is ineffective against a snake-gu and so on). Once created, they were extremely clingy and their owner could only get rid of them by "giving them away in marriage", so a gu Touhou could be a hopeful bride seeking a husband who won't mind the fact that she's a giant insect carrying the combined venom of myriad deadly vermin. She'd also get along well with Wriggle and Medicine.

Oh goodness. I just had a dream about this same Yokai.
It was a long and complex dream with a lot of "ultra" or "super" Yokai.
In short world war had advanced where instead of nukes being the main power house force, armies were accompanied by morphed super humans. The morphed Super human's DNA had been modified with actual Yokai DNA.
These morphed super human weapons soon back fired on all the countries. Yokai are evil and posses demonic attributes.

All the super humans rebelled against the world governments under the leadership of one Yokai super human lord.

The world was in a post-Apocalypse state no matter what. The Super human Yokai were across the globe terrorizing humans, raping, killing, eating them.
Human weapons were little to no effect and rarly were able to kill these Yokai super humans.
The world was completely different in it's structure. I was a young man (as like now) and roamed the Forrest/abandoned city like world with but only a wooden Bokken. My memory was completely blank, not even knowing of Yokai until I ended up fighting and beating one attacking people. No one could believe I had killed a yokai with my mere fists and Bokken. I was hailed, spoken about world wide, and soon the only world rebel group contacted me. The rebels were only ever successful at delaying or excaping from the Super Human yokai, so they almost forced me to take on Yokai.
The time came where I was on another Yokai hunt/campaign. I still only had a wooden bokken. Others around me noted that I had a spiritual strength, christian, and this was an ultimate against the demon super human yokai.

I had defeated several Yokai generals with the help of the newly trained rebels who I taught how to coordinated military tactics with their modern weapons. Eventually I ran into OP's Yokai. She was under orders from the top to "revive" my memory. She bit me and I regained my memory. I was a decedent of Demons from the earliest time of man. The scientists had turned me into a Super human Yokai in desperation toward the beginning of the Super human Yokai war against man. They thought my spiritual strength and my genetics would keep me in control of the evil DNA when mutated. It didn't. I was once the second in Command of the Super human Yokai. All the Super human Yokai had a human form and a Super human Yokai form. I soon became enraged and took form of my other form. I began to destroy again. My best friend and the woman who loved me from the Rebel group still believed that I was still good deep down. As I roamed the world with my old cronies I had found out that I had fallen in love with a human woman when I was in second command and my raging heart grew calm. When a fellow Yokai ate her in front of me I had unleashed all my power destroying and entire mega city full of Yokai ruling over humans. I had used all my power and that is how I lost my memory and ability to change forms. Later the rebels mounted a rescue mission to turn my stone heart back into that of a human being. Everyone knew that it was a suicide mission and that there would be little survivors. My best friend led the operation and they were trying to get the woman who loved me to me. Shit hit the wall, but the mission worked. I ended up killing/destroying the Yokai base, while managing to turn the tide of battle to save most rebels. I stood towering above the burning base here the woman who loved my sat on my shoulder accepting both forms I lived as. We ended up taking down all the super human Yokai in the end with much detail and story accompanied with it.

Well the manga "Museum of Terror" a lot of the time focuses on Traditional Japanese horror set in the modern times, but they are just so terrifying that I dare not read them outside of the well light middle of the day book store with friends with me.

In the manga, Tommie I think has a few stories like the gashadokuros.

My opinion is that those two series are actually a shonen and a power-of-friendship show seasoned with a bit of youkai flavor. They're not bad, but if you're looking for something scary or even remotely mysterious, try >>9792721's suggestion. The Hell Teacher Nube anime is a bit crude though (it's old), and I don't think anyone ever finished scantlating the manga.
