Now that I can order anything and everything I want and need online, I don't see a reason to go out.

The worst thing used to be going to coffee shops or convenience stores near me. Eventually the clerks would recognize me and try to make chit chat. It would always be so unnerving.

Besides it's not like stores near me cary anime figs/doujin/dolls, so I can't even go outside and have the pleasure of obtaining the goods I want.

NEET shut-in for 5 years reporting in. I became a shut-in at the end of High School when i joined the university and got my second job, I hate being a NEET, my gf and coworker constantly complain to me about my seclusion but they dont understand, nobody understands, fucking normals... Several days ago while i was hosting a house party one of my school mates was telling me about some piece of cinema he watched. It was disgusting, I can not understand how these normalfags can enjoy such shallow means of entertainment, I didn't say anything though i dont want anyone to find out that i'm a NEET shut-in.

Whenever I go over there he seems to just be sitting around (either in the garage he built to house his cars, or in the room he added on to the house which has a bar and TVs). For as long as I can remember he's been wearing the same outfit of tanktop, shorts, and flipflops.

I'm scared of real life

Everybody I know (doctor and bux worker) keeps telling me to take it easy and "do what you want to do" but normals like them don't understand that what I want to do is rot in obscurity till I die. They think that 2 years is ``a lot of time'' to ``recover'' when I've been a truhikki neet shutin for 8 years thanks to my parents.

you aren't a NEET by definition, so why do you worry about being lumped together with them? you aren't even a hikikomori according to your own post.

actual hikikomori don't leave their place and order/have every delivered to them. going outside to work/whatever just means you are reclusives. i don't mind any hikki who supports themselves through work, but if you're leaving to go to work then you aren't a hikki.

I don't know if I'm the only one but I feel like I need to post about it.

Every time I walk around inside my house I move in a very strange way. Like I move my arms to some kind of rhythm while moving and walk in a funny way. I can best describe it as some kind of autistic mix of tai chi and ballet. I do this subconsciously and I even catch myself doing it and every time I realize I'm doing it I think to myself "what the fug am I doing?". Walking itself doesn't really require any brain power. I think the increase in brain activity is from the increased amount of sensory stimulation from changing your environment.

At least in my experience, when I spend too much time in the same place, I spend a lot less time thinking about anything and just exist mindlessly, continuing my same habits (refreshing /jp/, checking email, checking for new pictures on pixiv, etc) with no clear goal in mind. But if I go to a new location, my brain suddenly wakes up and I feel a lot more motivated to do interesting things.

This is why normals say they "need" a vacation. They spend 51 weeks of the year in the same boring place just to get that one week break from it all to refresh themselves. Not because they were physically or mentally exhausted, but because they were mentally stagnating.

Any (British Columbia) Canadians know how hard it is to get on the dole?

White, male, turning 26 soon.

Parents had a violent divorce when I was 6 years old -- dad was a drinker with anger problems and mom always would tell me I can't see my dad because he would kill us -- this tends to scare the shit out of a 6 year old.

Was treated by multiple psychologist / psychiatrists since I was about 6 years old. Was Diagnosed with Depression, Generalized Anxiety disorder with Agoraphobia. They prescribed me Prozac,Clonazapam (3mg a day, wtf) and respiridone (I took this at 16) and some other bezno I can't remember. Finally tried to prescribe me something that started with a "K" due to chemical imbalance bullshit before I told them to fuck off and stopped seeking help.

Cognitive behavior therapy didn't do shit besides make me more anxious and benzos are fucking Satan incarnate with the side effects -- didn't work either, can't remember 3 months of my life due to blacking out.

my mother suffers panic attacks too in malls and has no close friends either.

I started having problems in grade 6, went to high school and dropped out the first year (in grade 8, 13 years old)

Withdrew to my room where I spent 13 years playing Everquest, Video Games, jerking off, watching anime.

I woke up after sleeping 12 hours, rolled out of bed and into my PC chair, rolled out 12 hours later back into bed. I only ate and drank processed food when I wasn't jerking off, watching animu or playing vidya.

I used to weigh 250lbs at the start of this year but am now 183lbs. I walk an hour a night at 4am when no one is around but still suffer panic attacks.

I have never worked a day in my life, have no high school/GED, no drivers license... I am turning 26 soon.

what are my prospects? I still have my childhood psych correspondence but I don't know if my GP will sign off because he hints I am capable of chasing pussy even though they are all bitches and whores

That's for you to decide
Nobody can help you, you need to help yourself. You have to search deep within yourself and search the world (internet will suffice) for what you wish to do in life.
For me, personally, I like programming, slowly learning stuff and getting into AI, it's so rewarding making a stupid script that can make decisions and watch it go. As for you, you need to figure out what will make you happy. Let go of your sadness and depression and find some joy. Maybe even get into Buddhism or similar, just something to help you reach self-enlightenment.

I can't just take it easy if anything happened to my mother I'd have NO:

shelter, food, education, social skills, job experience, life skills, money, coping mechanisms.

I need to make about $14/hr to live in my city (IE the only one with jobs) and yet the listings I see need credentials and pay a max of $12 for night security (NEED a car,BST)

even minimum wage I get to this:

$10.25 x 50hrs/wk x 4/wk x 12/mo = 24600/yr

24600 - 5.06% (provincial income tax) - 15% (federal income tax) = $19665 take home pay.

Rent = 12,000 a year (can be as low as $10,200 if you like a rat infested condo)

food = $8 x 30 (days/mo) x 12 (mo/yr) = $2800 + (Canada taxes SOME food items weirdly at 12% sales tax so estimate = $2950 in food after tax (this is 3x $5 a day -- no snacks or toilet paper / etc)

Internet + phone = $75/mo + 12% tax = 84/mo x 12 = 1008 (shit plans)

Electricity $70~/mo x 12 = $840

Renters insurance = $70-80+ (mandatory) x 12 (~80~) = 960

Public Transportation = $123~ x 12 = 1476 ; This wastes untold commute time and most jobs require a reliable vehicle and drivers license ... driving causes me panic attacks.

clothes budget = $10 x 12 = 120 (that's some fucking hobo dress right there)

Shoes: $100-150 x 2 = $300 (I walk 5 km a day for exercise and they disintegrate twice a year ... I mean like giant pits in the soles and no treads.

toiletries and basic chemicals = ~300/yr

(optional and not included because they are so subjective)

entertainment = $0

savings(need a computer every 3 years for work and sanity) = $40

Emergency fund = $25

Gas if I ever had to get a job where I drive and didn't have panic attacks = around $4.80-$5.00/gallon but I'll leave this out due to taking transit and wasting my time.

soooo....

19665 - 12000 - 2800 - 1008 - 840 - 960 - 1476 - 120 - 300 - 300 = -139/yr.

If I COULD stand to work through panic attacks FIFTY hours a week I'd still end up having to suck dick.

Not really...

Males deal with heart disease (much much rarer in women) and usually have more aggressive sex-specific cancers.

Women also get 15 dollars spent on research for women specific (breast, ovarian, etc) disease for every 1 dollar that goes to male specific diseases (testicular, prostate, etc)

Women make up over 60% of hospital visits because they are more likely to seek help when in need and for trivial matters... men the opposite. This excludes child birth BTW.

Everyone thinks its a gift to be born a white male, until you figure out you can't be a perma-hikki unless your parents are transhuman aliens.

Men provide for women.
If no men will provide for her, the state will. Most tax revenue is generated from men.

Men die earlier than women for a reason and its not biological.

You should total the amount of money spent in the total of these hospital visits. Visiting the hospital too much and not enough both cost extra money, too much for obvious reasons, not enough because you may not catch a small problem before it becomes a big problem.

I'd fucking trade you anyday to be a stay at home mom to spit out 1-3 kids and be treated like royalty... knowing that If I failed there would be hundreds of government programs, non-profits and the entire community around to support me when I shed a single tear.

There is a reason men also go to war and are the last off cruise ships too.

Yes, 1 in 4~ women are on antidepressants but that is because you can no longer diagnose them with having female hysteria.

One of the major suspected reasons is that women cannot take a loss in social status while men can.

You know that girl that has had a taste of a lifestyle that really isn't hers but is provided for by the status of her mate?

The way they can't handle losing the house, money, social circle, and free time?

Its called hypergamy and women constantly seek to increase their social status. Many men are fearful of commitment because of the massive divorce rates (50% -- MUCH higher for young people. Divorce favors the female. She usually gets alimony, the vehicle, the house and even the children.

There is also reason mining, fishing, and forestry are done nearly exclusively by males.

tl;dr feminism and labor pool saturation are not helping. Neither is the ENTIRE world competing with a pegged Chinese slave labor currency on things no one really wants outside of said social status... but I won't get into that.

As it stands now the state protects women alone.

How long will 100,000 dollars last me?

If my mother dies then I get 100,000 in life insurance. I plan to buy the cheapest land available in a very rural area that's no where near towns, but still close enough to pick up some kind of internet that's better than satellite.

I would then buy a shipping container, drop it down on my empty lot, and live inside of that.

I also plan to grow as much of my food as possible and stock up on canned goods. I figure that with the internet I can make at least two dollars a day from an hour or two of doing weird odd jobs that those indians do and that would be about 750 dollars each year to add to the savings.

Okay
What does that have to do with us now?
Hikkis live in their own world and reject the ghastly joke of an existence you just explained.

This guy lived very comfortably. Unfortunately the council is evil and kicked him out, but luckily I live in the U.S so there's plenty of land and no one gives a shit.

I can never decide which place is shittier, Australia or the UK. Thankfully I don't live in either and never will.

All this applies to me. Sometimes someone in my family will give me some cash (always less than 50 bucks) for my birthday but that's about it.

That's never going to end up happening, I'm calling it now.

You should learn how to distinguish between the ideas that will never materialize and realistic pursuits so you don't embarrass yourself like this.

Do you have any experience growing food? It sounds easy when you're planning, but any kind of farming is hard work.

The novel was much more intense than the anime for me. Yamazaki in particular is batshit fucking insane in it.

Why do normals work, /jp/? What motivates them? I've always had a huge issue with motivation- Since childhood I never actually had anything that I wanted to work toward, and the only thing that kept me 'trying' (if you could really call it that at that point) in highschool and college was the idea that working then would mean I'd have to work less in a career.

Well, as it turns out laziness doesn't make a very good motivator, and I became a NEET. After a couple years of NEEThood my declining social skills gave birth to full-blown anxiety and I became a hikki.

I wish that when I still socialized I had the chance to ask some of the really bright, hard-working classmates I had what they worked for. I have to wonder if it was really just a matter of them being socially conditioned more successfully than me or if they simply had something I didn't.
