That is entirely their own fault. The endings themselves are very clear if you have been paying attention and thinking along with the characters. The parts left to discussion are all unsolved mysteries regarding 'the bigger picture'. The main story itself (the 7-day Akakuradake and SPHIA stories) are fully complete and explained, just the backstory around it is never confirmed.

A lot of other details are also uncertain: Who is post-fall Satoru? What is the significance of 'Kagome Kagome'? What, precisely, is the goal of the experiment? What is 'Self'? And so on.

Satoru is the guy in the glasses if I remembered correctly. Whoever that is in there now isnt Satoru.

I have a fuzzy memory since it was years ago when I played R11 but didnt they start the experiment because someone went batshit insane and murder everyone. The keypoint is why? Is it because another being took control of her personality and murdered everyone? Just what is self? A personality or a higher being "you" that choose I want to eat meat and meat would be served in the game world?
