What would you do differently if you lived in Japan?

>> No.9744676

I would probably speak Japanese

>> No.9744680

I'd have discovered gundam earlier.

Talk to people, and go outside.

Learn how to be a true samurai instead of becoming the modern day beta Japanese man. My main hand would be for my trusty katana named Suzuki, my offhand would depend on the situation. I'd be in full battle armor at all times. Given that I'm a fairly big guy, I could handle having extra armor pads on my sides and rear to give me better protection against ninjas, archers, and enemies attacking my flanks. For the helmet, I'll probably have a great helm of defense with horns that my father passed down from generation to generation.

Gomenasai /jp/, my name is Ken-Sama
I'm a 27 year old American Otaku (Anime fan for you gaijins). I draw Anime and Manga on my tablet, and spend my days perfecting my art and playing superior Japanese games. (Disgaea, Final Fantasy, Persona series)

I train with my Katana every day, this superior weapon can cut clean through steel because it is folded over a thousand times, and is vastly superior to any other weapon on earth. I earned my sword license two years ago, and I have been getting better every day.

I speak Japanese fluently, both Kanji and the Osaka dialect, and I write fluently as well. I know everything about Japanese history and their bushido code, which I follow 100%

When I get my Japanese visa, I am moving to Tokyo to attend a prestigious High School to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become an animator for Studio Ghibli or a game designer!

I own several kimonos, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to Japan, so I can fit in easier. I bow to my elders and seniors and speak Japanese as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.

Instead of browsing online stores and ordering from them i would actually leave the house and browse real stores.

No you wouldn't.

i would be an alcoholic instead of a stoner

Ken-Sama, i miss you when you were a innocent copypasta.
I want to dream again.

Since moving to Japan I've pretty much turned into a seemingly normal, well-adjusted individual. I go out often, socialise a bit, eat (and cook) better, form relationships with the opposite sex and generally live a more positive life.

My personality and loyalty to otaku hobbies are still very offputting to most normals, though, so I'm kind of on the fence, with no real social group.

Yeah, I hear the Japanese are really serious about not breaking any law at all. Even if a game is so rare that it would be completely impossible to actually buy it, they would look down on you for pirating it.

No one I know would.

Say that to all the torrent seeders from japan who provide me with VNs.

Okay maybe it's just the normals. I dunno, it's just what I'd heard.

Wasn't there a law that got passed or is trying to get passed in Japan to actually prosecute downloaders of copyrighted material?

A general tip for dealing with Japanese people: They're lying. Hiding your personal views for the sake of appearance is a pretty normal thing over there.

So is it safe to assume that it's an entire nation really polite weed smoking, software pirating pedophiles?

>> No.9745016

>>9744997
>weed smoking

They don't do it because buying weed in Japan is almost as difficult as buying weapon grade plutonium. Also, if you get caught you can pretty much commit sudoku. You'd be a social outcast on the same level as a murderer. So, no. They hardly smoke weed.

>software pirating

That's closer to the truth. I don't think pirating is something unusual in Japan.

>pedophiles

Pedophile isn't (wasn't?) such a big deal in Japan. At least not on the same level as in the west. We talk about a country were you could legally buy gravure books with nude children in provocative poses until a few years ago, after all.
