In all seriousness, I don't think anything will ever come of this.
It should be noted though that there is still a lot of anti-Japanese sentiment there:

I once overheard young (18-24) guys talking about how they could never go out with a Japanese girl because of history, and perhaps the disapproval of their parents.
What I found notable about this was the age of the guys, and also the fact that they were speaking in Australian accents; presumably they were born here or lived here since a very young age.
If that is the attitude of young men in another country, I could only imagine the attitude in mainland China. It somewhat surprised me at the time.
My family is originally from Scotland; It's almost like me hating the Germans, but I suppose it's the nature of Japan's war crimes mean that this sentiment lives on where in other cases it would not.

We don't have a treaty with Israel like the one we have with Japan. We'd have to go to war whether we wanted to or not. The only countries that we are obligated by treaty to defend are NATO members and Japan.

I'm a chink and I don't really want this to happen. More for the sake of Japan than anything else. There's alot of butt frustration in China about losing WW2, its the kind of cognitive dissonance you have when you win, but you know it wasn't really you that did the winning.

Add to this the fact that its easy to paint the Japanese as unapologetic over past war crimes because of the acts of some of their leaders, and you have alot of desire to 'get back' at Japan, guided by some sense of desire for righteous retribution.

It doesn't really help Asia at all, and there are more important issues for all countries involved than a bunch of fish and rocks in the sea.
