I've been lurking 4chan since it opened. Mainly /b/, /a/, and eventually /jp/. I post incredibly rarely, mostly due to social anxiety and fear that people will consider my posts terrible and hate me. Despite posting anonymously. The fear is totally irrational but like all social anxieties it's very pervasive. I will often type a post, then become too anxious to actually post it. This has resulted in my enjoying shitposting occasionally, as it both reminds me of the classic days of /b/'s largely memetic shitposting and also removes the anxiety of a possible positive outcome turning out negatively; in other words, if I make an intentionally shitty post and people hate me for it, it was simply a successful post. When shitposting, I never have to deal with the fear of failure.

I didn't come until a month after in 2008 because I wanted the best of both worlds (anime, figs, VN's, SHUMPs and music dumps) in the same place. Then some butthurt mod came along and banned me for two weeks. Watching Sion, Currybutt, Boof and Suigin having fun on /a/ makes me really want to leave /jp/.

I was a tripfag once. My idea was to simply post as I would anonymously and see what happened. But I found that the way I posted was different. My rampant samefagging, entire threads where I just argue with myself, I still tried to do this, but it was somewhat toned down and it seemed forced. People got the wrong idea. They thought I was just acting crazily and making sure to post everywhere now that I had a tripcode so people would notice me. But it was just how I would usually post. I wouldn't be entirely honest because even though I told myself I wouldn't try to uphold any image, I didn't want people to associate the worst things about me with my tripcode. I found myself posting less. I was afraid that people who once knew me might realize who I was. So I just dropped it.

Here are some rules that everyone agrees with.

1. Remove the sticky.
2. Do not allow LNs that have an anime adaptation.
3. Allow NEET threads.
4. Do not remove ironic shitposting unless it is blatantly spam or crossboarders, it is a form of self-regulation and part of /jp/ culture.
5. Allow things like headphones, mahjong, etc. Do not make them official topics, but rather interests that have their own niche threads every once in awhile.
6. Confine doujin games and doujin music into one thread, similar to the VN threads.
