The show in the OP is about 4 guys trying to get laid but keep fucking it up. It's more of a quirky fun show, though. I can't really think of a serious drama about an average joe trying to find love.

Proposal Daisakusen is about a guy whose childhood friend marries another guy because he could never make a move on her. He's given the chance to go back in time and change the course of their relationship. I know it's not exactly what you're looking for but it's pretty close.

There's always Densha Otoko, but again, it's more of a comedy than a serious drama.
