Which characters would you like to see as main playable options in a new Touhou game? Similar to how Sakuya, Youmu, and Sanae graduated from stage bosses to playable characters.

I'd kind of like to see Reisen as a main character. She could be manipulated by Tewi into investigating an incident and, after initially seeing it as a bother, she could find a reason to get serious in time for stage 6.

I'd also like to see Kogasa running around trying to scare people for her own amusement, but then getting wrapped up in solving an incident and fighting her way through the bosses for dear life.

Orin might be fun to play as, but I'm not sure what her motivation would be.

Every time this thread happens its always the same thing.

Reisen is the most likely to become playable, just due to past patterns. A large group wants to see Futo as playable, even for a half game because she has an upbeat attitude that puts Sanae to shame, and seems very apt to "solving" incidents. Cue various people wanting the weirdest touhous to become playable. Mima and Yuuka fans jump on the bandwagon as well. Someone starts talking about a Momiji hack n slash game. Sakuya fans stay silent as they know she'll likely not return, but don't want to put on an air of superiority after the whole Youmu thing.

And even with all that, nobody ever mentions Shou. Even considering the pattern of stage 5 bosses, she just doesn't have that playable character charm.
